  1. Agreed. As an alternate, it's fine. I just wish it wasnt tied to the Orlando teams.
  2. It was February 18th 2021 for last seasons schedule, so I would say within the next week or so is probable.
  3. Someone told me it might be Fall Family Weekend for UF that weekend, but nothing's official.
  4. I would like to think that CJS might go the route in replacing the OC like he did with the DC, co-coordinators where one is hired from within and one from outside the staff.
  5. Not really unprecendented since Tampa and Orlando have 2 in the same stadium. The San Francisco Bowl decided to cancel for this year, so ESPN created a replacement in Frisco for this year only.
  6. At this point being a week or so out from kickoff, getting a team not already hnamed to a bowl will be difficult to pull together. The Gator Bowl's best hope is to have another game have a team drop out so that the remaining teams can meet.
  7. The issue is that IF the sister city plan goes thru, Tampa would have the Rays for the first part thru sometime in June. Tampa wouldn't see the road to the playoffs at all, unless it's on TV. Postseason would be alternated every other year, so you might be OK or you might be hosed. So many details of the sister city plan just doesn't make a lick of common sense.
  8. I dont think the Rays front office will change their stance until someone with MLB or the Players Association pushes back. The also have to get two ballparks planned and built, so if the drop dead date is close and only one location is making progress, they may lean that way. Montreal has no ballpark available (even for temporary purposes, Olympic Stadium is mainly why the Expos left in the first place), Tampa Bay at least has the Trop if they need somewhere for the short term.
  9. I agree. Hearing what he had to say really tells me he was the right hire for right now.
  10. The bricks at Disney World were said to be guaranteed for a set period of time, which was supposedly 2011. Disney didn't remove them until 2019 when construction necessitated change. If anything, these bricks would be a form of renewable option where if needed for removal, something new could take its place.
  11. Playing a one off at RayJay wouldnt be out of the question. Houston (with a pretty new OCS) has played an at the Texans stadium multiple times (2021, 2019, 2016) as part of the Texas Kickoff series of games. I would think once USF has an OCS, the Tampa Bay Sports Commission may look to host neutral site games on opening weekend at RayJay.
  12. I don't think it matters who we open with, as it should be a good draw for the first year. Boise would be great but my gut says 2025 might be a bit too soon.
  13. Update. As expected, C. fans are claiming its because of them.
  14. Yes, because the rivalry should matter between the schools no matter what conference a team is in. Colorado-Colorado State play yearly and thats a G5-P5 matchup.
  15. I got the survey too, and yeah that car question HAHA. Hopefully this is really something theyre using and not an info grab for the dealership that provides the Mustang giveaway for the student rewards program.
  16. I don't know the value of the Lightning currently, but 20% is pretty significant. Vinik Sports Group purchased the Lightning for $170 million in 2010, so I'd assume theyve increased in value. The USF Stadium is for sure a possibility with his connections there. Rays fans are hoping he's also up to something to bring the Rays to Tampa. Anythings possible I guess.
  17. As for a hill/berm, I've always liked what Navy did in their endzone with some fixed seats perched behind a hill.
  18. I would assume that would fall under the portion of the donation, which already exists for some if not all season tickets currently for football.
  19. Still hoping for DV, but Sims did seem to show something positive against C. on Black Friday. Rowe might be challenging to get as he'd still be in season with the Colts. Shoop seems too similar to Spencer. For a team that's trending younger it may be a better choice to trend toward an up and comer at DC
  20. Pretty sure all teams will be there. Based on last years bracket, the first round for the men will only have 3 matchups due to the odd number.
  21. The whole campus would be in play for parking. Of course, the closer lots would be dedicated to donors and such.
  22. I haven't heard anything about Pizzo, but I would imagine the list of challenges in that plot of land is longer than others.
  23. I think you're right. Definitely mostly a steel structure. The Buccaneers built their IPF a few years ago in the span of an offseason I believe.
  24. Pro sports competition is a thing when you're trying to gather from casual fans. To a casual fan with a limited budget, everything is on even level. In a market like Tampa where throughout college football season (Sept-December) you have MLB, NFL, and NHL competing with South Florida its a tough split for some.
