    USF Athletics? It's a struggle. I don't ask for UF levels of donations, but UCF wiped us in this category. MK has slowly been improving athletics donations, but we have a ways to go. At least our endowment is pretty sweet.

    Come for the tailgating, and don't expect successful college football. That's been my pitch for giving way my extra tickets. It's been quite effective for me.

    We had a true FR starting at QB most of the year. They offensive scheming and okay calling did not yield a terrible offense.

    Not sure how accurate that is. Neither Weiss, Jr. or Scott are that tall. I saw a pic with all three together, and they all looked the same height. I'd say closer to maybe 6'0".

    It's still my take. I don't know McMurphy on a personal level, so hard for me to get so impassioned about disliking him. Even McMurphy with seemingly an axe to grind against Leavitt and USF served a purpose. That, I contend, is better than we're getting from the largest local newspaper in our market that doesn't even find USF important enough to dedicate a beat writer to. TBT's apathy toward USF speaks volumes.

    Agreed. A more vocal fanbase would do wonders to demand that from the TBT. We're very milquetoast in that department though.

    It should be taught and discussed. It helps explain what's going on in today's world. Regarding USF building, I saw a tweet today that work has begun on the IPF.

    Johnston is doing great work now for USF athletics. I've always enjoyed reading his stuff.

    I'll get on my soap box for this one. Our local paper, the Tampa Bay Times, still doesn't have a dedicated USF beat writer. I miss the days of Greg Auman and even the 'Stache, Brett McMurphy. And the Jim was fired for attempting to talk to Miller and Erskin, while an active investigation into Slap-Gate was talking place. Huge no-no that gave the powers that be unnecessary leverage to oust Leavitt. Anyone that read the Slap-Gate report from the outside counsel knows that the alleged acts were really never confirmed. It was a botched investigation into stupidity.

    I guess we'll see. He's putting together decent recruiting for fau. Needs to show more next season, for sure.

    For what it's worth, I don't think Taggs has done enough yet at FAU to merit getting bigger schools sniffing around.
