  1. Chicky I believe is cheering at this one if I remember correctly. Eric
  2. Thanks to BDYZR for stepping up and offer to host it. That's all it takes folks. Someday we'll have 100 of these going on every weekend across the country. Who's got next? Eric
  3. Mutt, you beat me to it.  For those that can't make it to Capogna's here the rest of the list: Lee Roy Selmons at Tyrone Square Mall (St. Petersburg) Lee Roy Selmons on Cortez Rd. (Bradenton) Lee Roy Selmons on Boy Scout (Tampa) Clubhouse Sports Cafe on Fowler Ave. (Temple Terrace) Beef O'Brady's at 10029 W. Hillsborough Ave. (Tampa/Westchase, new location) I'll add a couple more here as I confirm locations. Eric
  4. Sucks to B U....sorry couldn't resist it from my Maine days. ;D
  5. It is my understanding that the UNC campus is dry and therefor tailgating is dry as well. Eric
  6. Questions like this are always interesting to me because it gives us all a little look into each others history.  So here's mine: 1)  USF 2)  Tied Central Michigan University (alma mater), U of M (Meeechigan) 3)  The U (Miami, wife's alma mater) 4)  Tied New Mexico and Maine, both former employers All the UM and U of M folks confuse me because I'm not sure which school they refer to.  I would guess UM is Miami and U of M is Michigan. Eric
  7. Sitting Bull: What watch party are you going to. I'll see if I can arrange to have some there. Several of the cheerleaders not going on the trip to cheer have joined our Student Bulls Club now and our going on the SBC trip to UNC. But there are still a few in town. Eric
  8. See the watch party thread for information on where to go. Any respectable sports bar will have ESPNU or Game Plan so they should have it. If they don't, they aren't really a sports bar. Eric
  9. Hey guys be nice, even though I know that's tough for you FLsportsfn. I welcome this question every week prior to a road game because that means people are looking for them. And it could be someone new looking to get more involved. So let's not be too hard on people when they ask questions that to those of you that live here already know the answers to. Yes, we will have the "official" watch parties listed by Jim. There is also one at a Beef O'Brady's in the Orlando area and I keep hearing about one in Brevard County too but I'll let Kdawgy list the physical locations of those. I'll start another watch party thread later today so people like BDYZR can list their gatherings as well. Go Bulls! Eric
  10. South parking lot opens at 2 p.m. for all 7 p.m. starts. Homecoming all lots will open at 9:00 a.m. because of the 12 noon start. Eric
  11. Hey guys: Not making excuses for them but they've been banged up all year. Saturday night they were with out Hunter West and Simon Schoendorf. They've been without one, two or three guys each game. They have enough talent to overcome this but can't seem to put it together. We are just hoping to get everyone back in time for the stretch run. On another soccer note, please make sure and come out to their game next Thursday, versus Stetson. It is being televised on the Fox Soccer Channel (Ch. 120 on Hillsborough Brighthouse). We need to have a great crowd for that game and I think even the cheerleaders are going to be at that game. Something new and different. They are an exciting team to watch, even when they lose. Go Bulls! Eric
  12. If you haven't made your gift yet to support the band please consider it. My wife and I made a gift to the band and to the cheerleaders this year in addition to our normal Bulls Club gift. Every little bit helps these groups. I know several others in the athletic department have made a gift as well to support the band so that should tell you how important we think it is. Go Bulls! Eric
  13. I'll put a couple in photo area for your general use but please don't anyone make me regret that > Eric
  14. I showed my wife your compliments about her squad up there and she thanks you guys very much. It means a lot to the squads and the coach's as often times they are overlooked unless they screw something up. Go Bulls!
  15. Ya know, one of the greatest things about away game watch parties is you can always start your own location !  2 seasons ago, there was only 4 of us going to Capogna's in Clearwater...  At the end of last season, we had 75 people show up. At the Pre-Season Tailgate for this season we probably had 200 or so...  So don't give up hope, find a place and make it yours... We'll see how many show up tonite !!  Good luck, And as always... GO BULLS !!! Mutt: That is so true and that was our goal when we started organizing watch parties 4 years ago and really putting some effort into them. Our goal has always been to eventually turn them over to the fans to run and have the bars/restaurants really promoting them. Some locations are getting there but we always want more. This is how businesses learn how important USF is to the local economy and their economy. Keep up the great work everyone, and remember, just because there isn't a place located near you doesn't mean you can't start one in your neighborhood. Go Bulls! Eric
  16. or LRS at Tyrone Square Mall. Sorry Mutt, I've got to give equal time to our St. Pete peeps!
  17. SBC has been promoting the trip at Bull Market. We don't have the budget to put ads in the Oracle but our kids do a good job of promoting it through word of mouth. SBC works a little differently in that it is not an official student organization, does not receive money from SG, and operates independently throught the Bulls Club. All members are donors to the athletic department as a portion of their $25 membership is a tax deductible gift. Several original members of SBC (ie. Jewbull, dmince, usfgriff just to name a few) have gone on to become loyal donors to the Bulls Club. That is the message of SBC. And just like the Bulls Club, we offer travel opportunities for SBC. We should have over 200 members this year. For a visual, these are the students wearing the Bullies shirts although there are members of the BeefSTuds and others that don't wear the Bullies shirts (some for obvious reasons). So if you have a child or friend that attends USF that has a passion for athletics and wants to be involved with something fun, have them join SBC. This year we even have an intramural team competing (so far just flag football, which I'm told we won our first game 25-2). Anyway, we are very proud of this group of dedicated, loyal, and for the most part supportive students making this commitment to USF AThletics. See you all in Chapel Hill. Eric (officially off this soap box)
  18. Don't forget, the Bull Ring Restaurant on Fowler Ave. will be hosting the Jim Leavitt Radio show tonight. Show begins at 7 p.m. Come out and see the man in charge of the Bulls. Go Bulls! Eric P.S. It is for sure happening tonight.
  19. We do have a watch party in Bradenton at LRS on Cortez. We've tried putting one together at Barnacles in the past and they have been poorly attended. But the bigger issue is needing someone there to organize and give away the prizes, poms, etc. No problem with anyone going to another location and demanding our game be put on (Barnacles has enough tv's they could have every game on, besides, they are supporters of USF and will have it on anyway I'm sure). I'd try and get to most watch parties 1/2 hour or so before the game. Capogna's might be a different story with all the Bull Backers going, you might need to get there on Friday.
  20. The watch party thread got pinned to the top!! It must take someone else starting this topic to get it pinned. ;D Another addition to the watch party list for this weekend. Our good friend Kdawgy will be hosting one at the Beef O'Brady's in Winter Garden for you Orlando area folks. The address is 13750 W. Colonial Dr. in Winter Garden. Eric
  21. I'm glad you asked. Here are all the official watch parties but feel free to start your own if you don't live in one of these areas. Clubhouse Sports Cafe on Fowler Ave. (Temple Terrace) Lee Roy Selmon's Restaurant on Boy Scout (Tampa) Capogna's Dugout on SR 60 (Clearwater) Lee Roy Selmon's Restaurant at Tyrone Square Mall (St. Pete) Lee Roy Selmon's Restaurant on Cortez (Bradenton) Please frequent these places and let them know you appreciate them making the Bulls the team to watch at their establishment. Go Bulls! Eric
  22. Hey guys: Unfortunately HOT won't be at any other road games unless we are in a bowl. Then we'll find a way to get them there. It is expensive to travel that many and as has been discussed on the board, HOT has many urgent needs. They did a great job on Saturday along with ALL of our fans. At various times, parts of our crowd carried the others. Even the donor/alum sections I was in started chanting on several occasions and got the students going again and vice versa. Great team effort. Eric
  23. And that guy is Jason Loughren, who used to work here in the athletic department in our ticket sales department. Great guy and I think does a great job PA'ing. Eric
  24. We are anticipating television for each televised road game. It's just a matter of network, time, etc. I posted all this information last week but that post got buried quicker than.....well let's wait and see what happens tomorrow. So to confirm, because that's what I do here, our watch party locations are: Clubhouse Sports Cafe on Fowler Ave. (Temple Terrace) Lee Roy Selmons on Boy Scout (Tampa) Lee Roy Selmons on Cortez (Bradenton, my mistake on the earlier information of it being in Sarasota, sorry Greg) Lee Roy Selmons at Tyrone Square Mall (St. Petersburg) Capogna's Dugout on SR 60 (Clearwater) Each of these establishments have made a solemn promise to put USF televised games on their largest tv's with the sound on and to provide the best service imaginable to all USF Fans. Now it that doens't motivate you to show up to one of them if you aren't going to the game, then the fact they'll have free give aways should. See everyone at the Soccer match tonight, in Orlando tomorrow, or somewhere else. Go Bulls!
