Based on that argument, what about Louisville. They won their conference as well. It's about putting the two best teams in the national championship game, not the two best conference champions. I think you can argue for both Florida and Michigan and you can argue against both as well. As I said in another thread, I hope both OSU and Florida lose.

I don't know. It was a rumor that I am spreading -- but for that price I would think it's by air.  The team hotel is only $92 per night for the room and the game ticket is only $30. But, like I said, it was a rumor that I read and I could be wrong. For Birmingham, that is air. We also have a bus trip if people are interested for around $300. But that only goes if we have enough people. Eric

I'm in the same boat. Honestly, if it became UF vs. OSU in the national championship game, I think the Rose Bowl will be one of the best bowl games with Michigan vs. USF. But I can't see myself rooting for either OSF or UF. Can they both lose?

We do have a ton or rooms on hold and they will be available with our packages. For those driving on their own, one package is hotel and ground transportation at bowl city(ie. transportation to game, back to hotel, etc.). We should have our packages on line tonight and available for purchase beginning Monday morning. Eric

Each team is given an alotment of 10,000 tickets to sell. If need be, there are more avialable. Eric

Apparel will definitely be available in Birmingham or Houston and they usually have shirts that feature both schools and then some products that will feature USF more heavily. For those going we will also be offering a bowl gift item again this year but I won't ruin the surprise yet until we've finished with those details. But it won't be a shirt. Eric

Hey you guys: Here are some other options. We are definitely going to have at least one charter flight leaving Friday and coming back Saturday. If there is enough interest, we will have a second charter. We are also no looking for people interested in a bus package leaving really early on Friday morning and coming back right after the game. Not cheerleaders...they are both dance teams (SunDolls, etc.). There is a difference.

In response to a few of the comments, our packages again will be up on Monday with information. We will once again be doing some special events on Friday and Saturday working with the rest of the University and the Alumni Association to plan those. As they are finalized, we'll let you know. Eric

Hey everyone: Once our bowl bid is announced we will have travel packages set up as well. SBC will almost definitely have a trip put together for any of those members. We'll keep you posted. Eric

Do not go to the airport as the team flies into a charter terminal, not the main terminal. Right now best estimate is that they will arrive back to the facility between 8-9 p.m. I'll have a better idea once the team reaches the airport as someone on the trip will call me when they get there. I'll keep you posted. Eric

Hey everyone: I'll let you know about what time to meet the team at the athletic facility. Jenna is right, they don't fly into the main terminal but into a charter terminal so you wouldn't see them there. There seems to be a lot of people interested in doing this as my cell phone has been ringing like crazy. Someone on the trip is calling me when they get ready to take off. Right now a best estimate is to be there around 8:00 p.m. or so. I'll keep you posted. Eric

He's a major donor for the Jim Leavitt Athlete's Cafeteria. Jim: I'm not sure where you get your information. The cafeteria is way down on the list of facilities and no pledge agreements have been signed so I think it is a little premature to be putting that out for the public. I hope your crystal ball is right though. Eric

speaking of the sherriff, another tradition of his may be making a come back in February. The Bullies have begun talking about camping out prior to the men's/women's doubleheader in February. A nice job by all last night. Eric

I grew up in Michigan and a Michigan fan so I have a somewhat biased view of the game but here is my though on it. From what I'm told by those who gamble, Vegas considers home field advantage to be worth 3 points on the line. Michigan lost to OSU by 3 points in a very entertaining game at the shoe. If USC wins out I have no problem with them playing OSU in the national championship game even though I'll have to figure out a way to root for both teams to lose. I have not been impressed with Florida all year. Way too many close calls but I'll wait and see what happens against FSU and Arkansas before completely ruling them out in my mind. Arkansas is the only other team that would be remotely more deserving than Michigan if they win out but there blow out loss to USC hurts them. For those that argue Michigan had there shot...before the game I said if either team got blown out (14 pts. or more) or OSU lost their should not be a rematch. But because UM only lost by 3 on the road, I don't have a problem with it. Herbstreit before the game was saying no way there should be a rematch by immediately after he changed his tune to say those are the best two teams in the country. Besides. OSU needs to lose a national championship game under controversy. They got one from another UM so it's time they got theirs! ;D

Jim: By all means go there then so we don't have to see you bashing them every week. As I've said before, every body looks for a little something different in a watch party. You are one of two people I've ever heard complain about them and from what I'm told there is a pretty good crowd there. Thanks to all those that have made the commitment to put USF on their TV's. We used to have a problem with being the featured game. Now it seems like even places that aren't official watch parties are. I grew up a Michigan fan, maize and blue blood, so this is a very sad day for me. For my generation, he is the face of Michigan football. He is a legend and will be sorely missed by the U of M family. Eric :'(
