  1. Probably would look something like this. ACC East; USF, Tulane, Syracuse, NC State, Boston College, Wake Forrest, Virginia Tech, and Duke. ACC West; SMU, Memphis, Cal, Stanford, OSU, WSU, San Diego State, and Boise State. Maybe also the service academies to round it out.
  2. It does make sense though depending on how many teams the ACC loses to the Big 10 and SEC. If its more than 4 I expect Louisville, Pitt, and others to go to to Big 12. Its not bad for us though since there will be ACC teams that don't make the cut, and at that point the ACC will add le creme de la creme of the AAC, Mountain West, and PAC2. And that is where we fit in.
  3. That is great news. Beating Memphis in the semi final might be enough for us. It will be a nervy week. Great to be this close.
  4. Playing for Kentucky, no doubt. But living in Kentucky, especially when in your early 20's; yawn. I don't think I could do it for 4 years. If I was player it would be UNLV, Tulane, Miami, Stanford, Washington, or USF.
  5. I disagree. First of all I don't believe the ACC would try to kick out the California teams. If they leave it will be on their own volition. Possibly the Big 10 or if the ACC falls apart the Big 12. Second those teams are first class programs both academically and athletically and bring value to the ACC. I would love to play Stanford. Furthermore programs like San Diego State, OSU,WSU and Boise State could round out the ACC along with USF, Tulane, and Memphis. But that all will depend on how many teams the ACC loses.
  6. Makes our road a bit harder, but at the same time we might get the opportunity to play Memphis in the semi final, and beating them in the semi finals might end up being enough to get an at large. Scheduling in the AAC is weird compared to some other leagues. Just saw my other team Stetson win the A Sun final and get their first NCAAT bid ever. Our league was still playing regular season games today, while the A Sun already completed their tournament
  7. So do we know already what teams we will be playing in the first round and possible semi final? i guess we have to assume that to make it we will have to win the tournament. I guess it is possible if we beat a Memphis in the semi final, and than keep it close against FAU in the final that it might be enough, but it might not be. Today was tough, but not totally unexpected since every team in the country at some point will have an off day. Still an incredible season and still so much to play for. Lets just start another winning spree starting with 3 straight.
  8. I don't know that the AAC has brought USF down. When we are winning the AAC is a fun conference to be part of.
  9. I am agreeing with flsportsfan83, and I personally would even go higher. Don't believe FAU is a good point of reference for many reasons. One being the AAC is a ceiling for them while we are likely to be in a Power conference within 3-5 years. What is 3 million a year compared to what we are spending on an OCS. How much have we spent on extensions and then firing coaches. If we believe that Rahim can make USF a consistent winner than 3 million + is just a drop in the bucket. The 3 million plus spent will be a good investment when we go to multiple NCAAT, play in sold out arenas, and get into a Power 5 conference since we are finally living up to our potential.
  10. I am guessing the 6 are the ACC, PAC, Big 12, Big 10,Sec, and the Big east.
  11. Yea absolutely some of these are funny, and i think I have been guilty of posting overheated, wrongheaded, comments after bad games, and bad early starts of the season. I was certainly guilty of it after our first loss in football against WKU last season. But I don't remember anyone posting comments regarding either firing Golesh or Rahim. Maybe I am wrong.
  12. I don't believe I have seen one person on this board calling for Golesh or Rahim to be fired.
  13. Make him the highest paid coach in the AAC. Double, triple , quadruple what he gets now. If we can pay 300 million plus for an OCS ( money well spent) we can spent money on Rahim and Golesh to be here long term, if that's what they want. In the end we don't want to lose them because we get outbid by a midlevel ACC or Big 12 team. Give them something that is competitive with what they would get in the ACC and Big 12. It will be a an investment as important as top grade facilities. Perhaps even more important since I believe success on the field will help get us in a Power 4 conference, and even if we don't it will be a heck of a lot of fun for the fanbase.
  14. If that's the case hopefully they change their minds. Perhaps find a way to get Miguel some NIL money. This team is great this year but imagine next year with all these players coming back.
  15. Not arguing that we shouldn't be higher but I still see the 11 seed, and number 24 ranking as receiving a considerable amount of respect. If i understand seeding correctly there are 4 brackets, 16 teams each , plus 4 teams playing in a first round, so there would be 20-24 teams making the tournament seeded below us? I would take that in a heartbeat right now.
  16. 100 percent true, but at the same time we are so close, and we have a unique shot at making the NCAAT. This is crunch time and hopefully we can finish strong and get wins against Tulane and Tulsa. I think win those two and we are very close to that tournament birth. Win the first round of the AAC tournament, and I think we would be a lock.
  17. We have to assume that if we win the last 2 games we can get an at large. Not 100 percent but highly probable. The way I see it is that we get two bites at the apple. One is win the last 2 games and probably the quarter final of the AAC tournament game and we are in. Two, If we lose one of the last 2 games, win the AAC tournament and get in. Personally I like our odds better for us to win the next 3 games against the bottom of the conference versus having to probably beat a top 4 team or Memphis in the semifinal and than FAU in the final. FAU and Memphis are difficult teams.
  18. One match to keep an eye on tonight is the Gonzaga (23) vs St Mary (17) game. Hoping for a Gonzaga loss.
  19. I was thinking the same thing and not just the AAC tournament middle of the day games, but those middle of the day NCAAT tournament games as well. That first game right now would be against the Tulsa-ECU winner No way i am missing that.
  20. I think we move up a few spots. That at large bid in case we don't win the AAC is becoming more and more of a possibility
  21. I know I might be in a minority here but I wish we would continue to play UCF in football and basketball as well. Its a series that makes sense in so many ways.
  22. My kind of time as well! Need to add UNLV on the road to our schedule. Too bad there is no university of Bangkok or Amsterdam in the AAC.
  23. That is absolutely true. A loss on Saturday would be disappointing, but would far from end our hopes for a NCAAT birth. I think it will be a nervous couple of weeks. All of this is exciting, and I have missed this feeling in the last decade.
