  1. So the 6th biggest game out of an average of 30 something ish games that most players have played in is low? That is still a big game by my count... Maybe you should just admit Houston was a better team lol FSU was very one dimensional last year, and Houston was outstanding vs the run, having 2 of the best linebackers in the country. It was no flike
  2. You probably think that the Carolina Panthers mailed the Super Bowl in too don't you? They looked completely flat vs the Broncos, and you could say they looked disinterested. Cam Newton was quiet, frustrated, and really was not himself at all. But its probably because they got beat by a better team. Its hard to get energy when the first play you're getting stuffed in the backfield for a 3 yard loss and it keeps happening
  3. Sorry, SECOND* biggest game of their lives
  4. You insist that FSU was unmotivated for the Peach Bowl... I cannot comprehend what in the world makes you believe this and you have zero backing on this belief. It was probably the biggest game of these kids lives. Houston flat out whooped them. Accept it dude. Yes FSU was having QB issues, I'll give you that. What I am not giving you is the fact that their offense has ALWAYS been based on the run and they had no line injuries and Cook could not get a single run over 4 yards besides one lone 8 yarder. The Houston line pushed them around. FSU isn't a team full of football gods man, get off their balls
  5. Good point, but FSU has always been centered around Dalvin cook, and the dude had 33 yards on 18 carries. That is 1.8 ypc. Houston's offense is centered around Greg Ward throwing or running the ball himself. And you could tell that Houston was going to win right away because they were a better team. I doubt that many other teams would have went in there and beat FSU. Look, I'm not saying Houston is a juggernaught. I am simply saying they are better than us at this point in time. We really have no basis to say otherwise.
  6. This is why I don't trust much of what you say. Their corner Brandon Wilson may be just as good, if not better than William Jackson, who just happens to be a first round pick. They lost their game vs UConn because Greg Ward was out, nothing more. And they still have a fantastic bunch of WRs, very comparable to our depth at WR. RB Duke Catalon is a pretty good looking back. He's no Marlon Mack, but still good. And as for FSU not being interested in the bowl game? Yeah, that's what it was. A bunch of NFL hopefuls are just mailing it in on the biggest stage of the year, where scouts are going to be really looking. Come up with a better excuse next time. And sorry PCBull, that reply was kind of directed at everybody, not just you lol
  7. LOL YOUR REP IS TOO FUNNY!! Has to be a TBP record
  8. When they romp the AAC including us in the AAC championship game, I really wont want to say I told you so, but I guess I will
  9. Coach speak will always praise the weakest starter on the unit. One position I forget to mention was TE, where I also believe that we aren't as strong as many on here believe. I know Kano Dillon is a physical freak, and Wilcox is pushing for playing time too, but I still don't think they are as good as other TE's in the league. Also, CaliBull stating that we have more depth and talent returning than Houston is pure homerism. I know as a whole this post was pretty negative, but I am still buying into the hype this year. I believe in a 10-11 win team when its all said and done. But lets not fool ourselves and think everything is perfect.
  10. I'd personally rather slay giants like FSU and kill it in the OOC slate every year than a conference championship. I want the state championship baby! Beat FSU! Beat UCF!
  11. Oh, and for being such a highly ranked recruit, and still showing up on the roster, but never being on the depth chart? Jimmy Bayes. Where is that guy?
  12. I always liked D'Ernest Johnson returning kicks. He may not be as explosive, but he always seems to be mr. reliable for us (not fumbling) and always falls forward. So I very much agree with what you guys are saying about Adams only getting kick return duty in big games. The assessment on the RBs is good. I root for Tice, but as a player, he isn't as naturally talented as the other two. OL- I am still pleasantly surprised that Glen Bethel isn't taking the RT spot over Atterbury, or the LG over Ruff, as he was a very highly touted G from junior college. I know recruiting rankings aren't everything, but when you are highly touted out of JC, that usually means you are proven to be good at the collegiate level, and our other guys are just proving to be even better. So I will take this as a plus that we have some serious depth, rather than Bethel not putting out. DL- I could be very pleased with any combo of Senat, Bronson, Awoleke, and Hector starting. Getting Awoleke back was so big for us this year. I am not as excited about the DE's. That is my pick for our weakest spot this year, but hopefully Tramal Ivy will get here soon, and the unit as a whole will prove me wrong. CB- All I need to say about the depth here is when Johnny Ward is 5th on the depth chart, you KNOW you're good. I would be A-ok with him starting if we didn't have so much talent elsewhere. S- Again, Devin Abraham is a proven safety, and is a backup while a redshirt freshman is playing even better in Jaymon Thomas? This excites me, knowing we have so much depth.
  13. https://forums.rivals.com/threads/dalvin-cook-200-yards-vs-houston-over-under.369197/page-2 If anybody dislikes FSU fans as much as I do, this will REALLY have you on the floor laughing. Dalvin Cook finished with 33 yards on 18 carries. That is 1.8 ypc. The comments on this page are pure gold. If you want to see his play during the game to top it off, here you go
  14. I would argue that the AAC slate is just as tough as the ACC's minus Clemson. Not so sure what else they need to prove? As a conference, the AAC was 6-4 vs the ACC, and Houston beat 4 ranked teams. They also beat the second best team in the ACC by a lot. I'm confused what you mean by that Triple B?
  15. I just need to emphasize again that if Houston was in a P5 conference this year with the EXACT SAME credentials, they would be a top 5 team going into the season. They have a 50 / 50 shot week 1, because Oklahoma is equally as good.
  16. Less than 1% chance for Houston to beat Oklahoma and Louisville?? Do you know what you're saying? You are saying if Houston had more than 100 chances to beat both teams, they would fail every time. You are crazy, and clearly never saw Greg Ward, those crazy good receivers, and much of their returning defense play. I don't know if you were paying attention last year, but Houston will be a harder game than FSU. That was in no way a fluke. Houston IS 100% better than FSU. Period.
  17. I would be ok with that. I actually would LOVE to see undefeated USF vs undefeated Houston. And you might be right about not being able to jump Houston, but I think a lot of it comes down to how well Oklahoma and Florida St do, plus by how much each of us is beating their teams. I think that factors in more than who is ranked higher pre season. People will pay more attention to detail once we show that we are worthy of paying attention to
  18. Saying a decision 'may take until December' basically gives no information at all, because it acknowledges that it could be before or after that, or also never at all
  19. No one is blaming the reporter brother. I think most of the hate is going towards Martin, at least from what I see. I think Joey Knight tries to be a decent writer for USF, but I am not a big fan of his articles either. Like JTrue said, I just don't feel like I ever get any insight out of whats going on with USF from him like I do with other writers.
  20. Sounds like a challenge! I'm going to do my part to make sure the latter happens
  21. I don't really have a beef in this, because I think this whole thread is a sign that men have strange conversations when we don't have football to talk about. But one thing I do know, is being brand new to a message board and typing in all caps is a sure fire way to get everyone to hate you.
  22. exactly what lotsofbull99 said. You can't be the greatest Bull of all time, then leave us for another school
  23. I'm saying week 4 very early in the FSU game. I think Mack has a monster ypc average, but we will use Johnson and Tice a lot still
  24. Idaho is ahead of ECU, SMU, and UCF lmao. Realistically though, ECU is better than that.
