  1. I would be ok with this as long as the 3 ooc games are all fbs
  2. Too lazy to find a link, but I 100% positive that I read a Mike Aresco quote saying that if we lose one member, we will replace the member, but if we lose 2, we will stay at 10.
  3. The landscape has changed in the 2 years since we almost got Boise and SDSU. The AAC is widely considered the dominant conference right now in terms of G5. If the Big12 doesn't expand, or even better, goes BYU / Colorado St, the AAC has a real opportunity to reopen talks of them coming to the AAC again.
  4. Sellular pretty much nailed it. Maybe they come back and do something of significance this year? But we just saw a team in this conference collapse after their star QB got drafted, (UCF) AND they lost their coach. Remember where USF went when we got a new coach? Memphis has NEVER been good at football. Their recruiting area is nowhere near Tampa's, and frankly, their basketball hasn't been that great since Calipari. Not saying they are hot trash, but looking at the overall picture, USF isn't potential. It has literally been proven within the last decade where this program can be at. Memphis is a 100% gamble
  5. http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/17115091/big-12-football-coaches-favor-houston-cougars-byu-cougars-expansion-espn-poll-shows Well I know how much we all trust ESPN sources, but does this concern anyone? USF got zero votes from the Big 12 coaches themselves
  6. What argument besides just screaming basketball could be made to add Memphis over USF? Humor me
  7. It wasn't a realistic suggestion, but we would obviously need to demand new leadership if those were the suggested replacement teams. Any alternative would be better than playing conference games vs UMass, Charlotte, Tulane, SMU, FIU, and FAU. No. It is not happening
  8. If those are Mike's picks for the replacements, then we need to go independent. I trust his judgement as commissioner, and I think we get better teams than what you listed
  9. Cincy, USF/UCF (equal right now unfortunately, and will probably be a package, but a coin toss for best guess if only one is picked), and Houston/UConn (also equal in footing) in that order. Memphis is probably 6th in this whole thing tied with CSU. We may very well get passed over, but I just don't see how Memphis passes up the schools I listed ahead of them.
  10. Well for starters, we need to get double digit wins. 10-3 is what we need to ensure we are noticed. I think we can afford 9-4 if we beat FSU. Memphis showed last year that beating a nationally praised team will get you more attention than actually getting more conference wins (Temple). Finishing ranked is the main goal though, even if it is #25. Temple showed that last year, 10-3 was enough to get #24. Lets remember also that this team is heavy on the junior class. If we can get most of our guys to return, we can have a very special 2 year run. I think we can do better than the goal set, but any less than what I set would probably be considered somewhat of a failure this year
  11. I hate to say you're right, but you're right. USF just isn't cutting it lately. We need one or two more amazing years to prove this program is where it needs to be. We might end up proving it too late
  12. This is why I was frustrated to see the Big 12 express interest in expanding again. I hope Mike Aresco takes this news, and begins his own detailed search of the best program fits for the AAC. If the Big 12 decides not to expand, we should take that as a blessing, and be proactive in recruiting ourselves. Lets add 4 more (get to 16), to deplete competition with the other G5, and gain traction with a possible P6 bid, with my top candidates being 1. Boise State 2. Colorado State 3. Air Force 4. Northern Illinois 5. Army 6. Appalachian State 7. Louisiana Tech 8. SDSU 9. Middle Tennessee 10. Toledo 11. Marshall I love SDSU as a program, but unless they want to go football only, (I doubt they will, due to their basketball program being so big) I doubt it will work. They are just too far.
  13. I would agree, but Cincy is first in line in these expansion talks. Houston, USF, UCF, Memphis, BYU, and UConn is all toss up after that
  14. I hope they decide next year. I know the Big 12 will look deeply into each team's potential and direction the programs are heading, but this is before USF's break out year. I would love to see expansion talks the year AFTER USF gets double digit wins. This is bad timing, and I hate to say that I don't like our chances in this. I would rather the Big 12 NOT expand, stay in the very competitive AAC, than roll the dice, and possibly be left behind into a very watered down AAC. At that point, there are no reasonable candidates the AAC can add to replace possibly losing who the Big 12 is looking at
  15. I found this to be a pretty inclusive list of all college teams and some awesome plays. USF makes two positive appearances, and one negative. One was at #72 with the reverse flea flicker vs Syracuse to Bronson, and one at #17 with Eric Lee's bowl game interception vs Western Kentucky when it bounced off of multiple players first. Around #67 SMU's Courtland Sutton caught an amazing pass over a USF defender. If I was to nit pick USF's top plays, I definitely would have had Flower's scramble and bomb to D'Ernest Johnson in the Fla A&M game over the Syracuse play.
  16. If you get better friends, you get a great mix of funny stuff or interesting topics
  17. I'm blown away that people seem to think that our early season games are the tough part of the schedule when that couldnt be further from the truth. Navy, Cincy, Memphis, and Temple are all going to be better than Syracuse and Northern Illinois. Heck, you could argue UConn is better as well. That being said, I think we go 3-1 OOC, and 6-2 or 7-1 in conference. If we play a hot, healthy Houston team in the CCG, i doubt we win that. I would be thrilled to go 9-3 or 10-2
  18. I know USF always fell flat in these years, but I loved CJL. I connot believe to this day that he was fired. No loyalty at all..
  19. 1. Mack 2. USF 3. Mack 4. 97 bulls logo 5. Beer
  20. Would have loved to be at that Cincy 2015 game. Blow outs usually aren't that fun, but against a team that we expected to play to the wire, that was awesome
  21. Completely agree, even though I don't think either one would be a 'wrong' pick. I don't understand a pick outside of DE though, that is CLEARLY our biggest need spot, with such a long history of that being one of our strengths. That question almost should be modified to what player would you take outside of a DE to help this team, just to help make the answer not so obvious
  22. 1. One 2. None, unfortunately only have made about 7 games ever. Can only make 2 this year. 3. 2007 WVU. This was the game I fell in love with USF. I remember being obnoxious drunk, and getting my section loud as hell at random moments. I couldn't speak for awhile 4. Selvie Or JPP. No question it has to be a DE. That will be our weak spot this year. 5. @SMU is the only one I can attend, but Temple will be the biggest game.
  23. Impressive! Yeah, I admit to not watching USF until about 2006 and not really being a super fan till about 2009
  24. Of course its J Will yeah. I hope Harris takes a leap this year. He showed some serious promise as a freshman and sophomore, but kind of regressed last year
  25. How can you say Leavitt's teams never won a thing when neither have Taggart's? We are only comparing those two. Besides, those Leavitt teams sure won a LOT more than Taggart has so far, including making a #2 ranking, and winning huge games. Not to mention they had tons more notable players drafted. This shouldn't even be a conversation as to whose teams were better. Taggart has a huge opportunity this year to change that, but as of now, this is a non discussion. Leavitt teams > Taggart teams
