  1. Stat of the day at the end of the Nevada game... At that point since 2007, we were 24-3 in ALL non conference games. Holy smokes, I had no idea it was that good
  2. Those were by far the best two games. And I love how there is a massive gap between 2012 and 2015 lmao
  3. I think we have an extremely high chance of keeping Taggart with success if the rest of the AAC looks good, and he feels like there is a foundation for continued success. Tom Herman, Matt Rhule, and Ken N from Navy all stayed at their respective AAC programs even with larger program offers. I think there is something to build here. Not saying it won't happen, but I don't see him leaving before QF/Mack graduate in 2 years. Plus that is when his contract ends (not that that means anything)
  4. Speaking of recruiting class, is anyone worried that we are seriously lagging behind in recruiting for 2017? Yes, it is very early, but by this time, we usually have quite a few recruits already
  5. Just rewatched the 2007 Rutgers USF game and wow, did everything go their way. Fake punt and FG were both converted (props to them), but the blocked punt that was ruled forward lateral was such a bad call. Even worse than that call was in the last minute in the game, when Grothe completed about a 50 yard pass on 4th and 22, they called PI on Amarri Jackson when he hardly touched the guy!! That game was complete crap. What could have been....
  6. In the way that our defense was absolutely stacked, and not even the best offenses in the country could score on us, thats how. Under Taggert, Western Kentucky scores 45, and a sputtering Maryland with no QB to speak of scores 35. Not saying our D sucks now, but our Dline generally has been significantly worse than Leavitt years, and who is going to be drafted besides Nichols? Its not Auggie. MAYBE Senat? You tell me. This team's success will be placed squarely on QF and Mack. I will say this for Flowers, if he makes any progression at all this offseason, he has a chance to claim the title of best USF QB ever. I happen to like his chances
  7. Jim Leavitts teams were way better than any Taggart has had so far. He certainly has a chance to kake a great team this year though
  8. Hopefully we get Ivy and Calloway. Just my two cents, Calloway wasn't great vs the run. Hes more of a pass rushing DT, which will be great in a role. I believe all of our top DTs stand on pretty equal footing in terms of overall skill, including Bronson, Senat, Awoleke, Calloway, and Hector. But now that we have such a wealth of talent at DT (assuming he makes it) I almost think Calloway should try kicking out to DE depending on his condition, and defensive situation, since all of our talent is at DT, and we lack depth at DE. We will see how that works out
  9. We need to get into the 30's so i can remember the players
  10. Wow just watched that USF vs West Virginia game.... I remember being there. Pure magic man... Miss those days. I am still blown away how you can fire the man who brought this program up so fast, no matter how many times we stumbled in conference. He could have shot someone in downtown, and I would rather roll with him over anybody. Leavitt IS USF. Hopefully Taggart can get us back to that type of team where the defense is just pure awesome. That being said, I think QF/Mack combo is better than the QB/RB combo we had back then, even though Grothe was amazing.
  11. USF for sure, I was a USF fan since I started high school in 2006. But I watch all the Navy games too. Unfortunately, I think the only games I will be able to attend this year will be @ SMU, and the finale vs UCF. MAYBE if things go well, I can catch @ Memphis
  12. The USF vs Navy game, or the Temple game would be fantastic. But either way, thanks for the video. Sure was nice seeing how completely one sided this was
  13. Will we get rings if we beat Florida st and UCF, and those two teams beat their florida schools? Or better yet, will we WANT state titles? I think we should aim a little higher than that
  14. Not sure what being in a power conference has to do with anything... Its basically like saying 'you cant kick my ass, im friends with Jon Jones! The toughest friend you have is Kevin Hart!' See? No relevance. USF will stomp them like we always have
  15. 1. Hard to answer for me, i started following USF in 2006, my freshman year of high school. But I will go with the BJ, Mack, Mitchell team 2. FSU the bigger game, no question 3. No controversy. AW didn't wow anybody in spring ball, so no reason to think he could take the job away from QF, barring a terrible year. 4. I will say Valdes-Scantling will impress much more. Very talented WR, and will give Rodney Adams like playmaker ability. Dillon has the physical tools, but I don't see him breaking out this year. Not sold on the TE position yet 5. UCF game is definitely a win. They suck, and everyone will want to beat the snot out of UCF again
  16. That wasnt UCF's banner year though. The year they won the Fiesta bowl, and USF had 2 wins, it was 23-20
  17. I love hearing the term football relevance come up, then hear UConn, (a team that we have beat 4 years in a row) Cincinnati, (51-3 halftime lead, 2-1 the last 3 games vs them) and UCF aka little brother (a series that dates back only to 2005, we are 5-2 vs them, with a 62-12 win, and last year, 44-3. Even on UCF's best year, they only managed to win by 3). USF clearly also has the better future when looking at all of these potential candidates outside of Houston as well as being in the most talented recruiting area, and biggest TV market. I really don't understand why the discussion is turned away from us
  18. And no, I don't think we are better top to bottom than the Big 12, but I think we are closer top to bottom to the Big 12 than we are to C-USA
  19. Every year the top G5 team goes against maybe the 11th ranked overall team, because no one thinks the G5 champ is going to play competitively. So we end up getting the next worst team in a NY6 bowl. This means the best AAC team is going against a P5 conference's maybe 2 or 3rd best team. This is a match up that in my opinion will favor the AAC champ almost every year. So my point is that we just need to keep winning these games to show the college football world that this isn't a crap conference, and we deserve access to playoff if we have a team have a spectacular year, and most definitely deserve more media coverage and TV deal.
  20. Considering that the MWC is at 2 Mill per team, I will take it. The AAC will officially be in a league of its own when compared to the rest of the G4
  21. The bad TV deal came because no one knew what this conference was going to be, it was unstable, and unknown how good the teams would be. Talks are that the next deal might be renegotiated early, and numbers are looking to be around 7 mil. Still not 30, but another fantastic year could push us into the double digits
  22. This article made it seem like if you're not in a power 5, you're worthless. But tell me, how many times in a New Years 6 bowl has a 'Power 5' team beaten the G5 Champion? 0. The 'G5', AKA the AAC + Boise, is 3-0 in these games. And I don't see the streak ending any time soon. Because the fact is that the gap is not as wide as the media will have you believe. Time will tell. I think the AAC is just fine where it is, but I would suggest taking an aggressive stance on getting Boise and SDSU back on board, and dropping some of the dead weight (Tulane, SMU). If geography is too big of an issue, then add the next best team outside of SDSU, but getting Boise is a must.
  23. I may be in the minority here, but i really hope the AAC can stick together, and the Big12 doesn't expand. This is a quility conference with quality teams, we just need to be recognized as one. I think we earn significantly more money when we redo our tv deal, and we will separate ourselves from the rest of the G4
