  1. Anyone think Cooper got the ax for personality differences with Taggart. Cooper has been successful in previous stops, no?
  2. Big 12 will add a couple teams. The problem now is finding the best fit. I'm sure the Big 12 is eager to get to a conference championship game but what other schools are really that attractive? If USF didn't suck so bad the last few years, the combo of us and UCF probably would have been a lot more appealing.
  3. At least the visitors didn't trash the parking lots. Although I did witness a UCF punk snap 1 of the USF banners on the south lot near the alumni tents. Then stand on top of it while posing for pictures.
  4. I like this alternate uniform. Still hate the matte green helmet and giant logo.
  5. Great work! Best thing ever is being a dad. Congrats!
  6. ...the line runs up the back of the stockings.
  7. the defense just looks like they didn't care yesterday. They have played well at times early in the season. Yesterday they looked like they were more interested in some Turkey and dressing. Of topic, I'm watching Sunday NFL Countdown...I like Wendi Nix.
  8. Yes, I was one that felt we had peaked with CJL regime and was not averse to a change. We had to have faith and trust that the administration would make the right hire to take us to the next level. Very similar to those Bucs fans that were frustrated with Dungy. Unfortunately, we didn't find our Gruden and instead are mired a poop fest.
  9. There are talks of doing something. Im not going to say who told me but its someone reliable within athletics. We had a nice long discussion a few weeks ago. Don't be surprised to see USF OFFER some incentives ( discounts, upgrade options at current donation levels to a better seat, ability to add seats without having to pay more donor fees, payment plans ect... (they are discussing a lot)My group has a block of 12 seats and it's been hard to fill them this season. It would be good to see some type of incentive from USF to renew. I don't think the option of adding more seats would do it. The carrot they dangle would have to be better seats for the same price to make it really appealing. Or shoulder rub from Sundolls at halftime, something like that.
  10. It's the classic chess match that coaches play. I know you that you know than I know what you think you know what I'm gonna call, so I'm gonna run it on 3rd and 7.
  11. I remember we used to laugh about how George couldn't coach and UCF lost all the time. What's the saying...something coming back to roost. But I don't have much faith that Taggart will be around long enough to actually turn things around.
  12. +1 Bball is where it's at. And not just men's. The women are looking real strong. There was no USF football when I was an undegrad. I gotta say, there's no USF football now, either. We had a pretty nice run there for a while, as we were climbing. But, not any more. Shut this mess down, use the Big East buy out money to throw everything into supporting both basketball teams and build some USF pride. We'll never, ever be an FSU or UF. We won't even be a "good ol' days" USF. Shut it down. We're just flushing money down the toilet with football. Losing fans. Losing brand image. USF football is hurting the school more than it's helping at this point. I don't even know where to begin.... How about that the idea of shutting down our football program is stupid. This is another example of how people must have instant gratification and it's just stupid. Really, you have no faith that we will put another good product on the field....ever? Instant gratification? I started at USF in 1990. You? I'm saying football isn't the only game in town. We're on the outside looking in. Fan support is waning, our program is horrible, we're paying coaches who don't coach here, would have to pay yet another in CWT, and can't afford to hire a home run coach even if one was available. Ever/never is a long time, and clearly at some point things will come around. Life is cyclical. But, life is also different now. There's no more BCS. We're not in a P5. We won't be in a P5 for years and years, if ever. How many times has the B12 and others said they're not going to expand just to expand, that the target program has to bring value? Do we bring value? Um, no. Not with 15k fans in the stadium and 2 win seasons. Will we bring value any time soon? I'm not feeling good about it. USF Football is not making money. At some point, it has to be decided whether this is all worth it. Is there a legitimate shot at clawing our way back into the big time, or at least into a big time track? If not, do we want FCS/DII level football just to play football? Programs in the past have decided no. Univ. of Tampa killed their football program. Hofstra killed its football program. Others have, too. We made it from 1955/56 to 1997 without football. Maybe it was a fun experiment and it's time to move on. That's all I'm saying. What's the benefit of football to USF right now? In the immediate future? Short- to middle-term? What is the cost to the school to maintain this machine that's falling apart all around itself? Basketball isn't winning national championships, either. But, it's doing better than football right now, it's cheaper, and it's easier to turn around. It's pretty fun to watch now that we're not playing like the team's been roofied, too. I graduated in '95 and didn't think we'd have a football team. Even with this crap team, football is still the largest revenue source of any school sport, correct? I'm not delusional to think that we can be big time in the AAC, but with the talent in this state, it is not out of the realm of reasonable expectation that USF football will be a winning program again. And that's enough for me to be a season ticket holder and come out to cheer on my Bulls with my friends and have a good time watching my favorite sport. Hostra has like 12K students and U. Tampa has 7K. A lot harder to support a football team with that many students and alumni. If every school shut down their football programs when they sucked for a stretch, there wouldn't be many football programs left.
  13. And the atmosphere is like a library at non-peak times. I'd imagine if we had an OCS now, the atmosphere would be crap there too.
  14. I found UCF's stadium sterile. So much aluminum. Just felt cheap. I like the amenities that RJS provides. We just have up put a good product on the field.
  15. Defense failed us today. I think the guys just don't really care and are ready to get the season over with. Hope they can muster up enough pride to put up a fight against UCF.
  16. UCF got manhandled by UConn. Let me repeat that. UCF got manhandled by UConn. The same UConn team we beat. They will most likely win, but they are NOT better than Memphis this year. Memphis has a far better offense, and likely a better defense also than UCF. Memphis beat us by 11. I don't see UCF blowing us out...at all. They'll be the favorites for sure, though. I would guess they open as 17-20 pt favorites

  18. Word. I say do it right like U. Minnesota, which is the temporary home for an NFL team, while the Vikings build their new digs. Of course, that cost them over $300M compared to the cost of $50M to build the UCF erector set. So I'm ok with RJS for now.
  19. Or this is the classic letdown, sandwich game...big comeback win, letdown against Memphis, as the boys know they have UCF on deck. Depends on the mental fortitude of this team....which relies heavily on the coaches.
  20. The key is going to be the offensive line and QB. Memphis has a good defensive line and can bring pressure. Will Mike White have a good game or will he poop on himself? That, my fellow Bulls is the question.
  21. Wow, we're almost 3TD underdog...against Memphis. GOLD!
  22. could never remember what this was...DABDA
  23. And he did that the 2nd half of Tulsa. So his 1.5 quarters has earned him all the starts? Don't know what he graded out at yesterday but up to that point Bench had the 2 highest grades (from the coaches) of the season. So why didn't he start Bench yesterday? There are some questions that can only be answered in Taggart's mind. Houston game. I'm really not sure why you are such a staunch Bench supporter. But more power to you, I wish he was as good as you make him out to be :/ While your head coach was calling for White to spike the ball on the last play he had the sense to signal in the play that won the game. But he has no sense/feel of the game I guess. Has been around football all his life and has more of a grasp of the game than the other two. No, he isn't Tom Brady but he knows the game, is mobile and if you pull up his high school highlights can make all the throws that White can make. I dont buy all of that. Are you saying that Taggart was motioning White to spike the ball on 4th down and didnt realise that? I believe you may be talking about 3rd down when they ran the ball and the clock kept running. I hope CWT was not that lost out there as you have heard. Watching the game on TV it looked like CWT was yelling at White to run a play. Didnt see the spike ball motion but maybe I was missing something. Bench may end of being a good coach one day, but I have seen enough of him at QB to see that he does not worry the other teams defense with his passing. As soon at Houston went up 7-0, I pretty much felt that the game was over with Bench out there because he does not lead the offense. Yes, Taggart wanted a spike on 4th and White questioned it. Right after the bone head run on 3Rd call. Goes way beyond any issue Holtz had with time outs. Slick.. don't act as if you know this as fact. You are going on hearsay (by CousinRicky) and have no other proof/evidence/knowledge of it than that Yeah, I don't buy this at all. The best explanation I can come up with is we call 2 plays, knowing that we run on 3rd down to try and catch the defense off guard. If we don't score on 3rd down, we got time to run the 4th down play that's already been called - does this explain White confirming/getting the signal from the sideline? I wasn't at the game or recall what I saw on tv, so not sure about that.
  24. yeah really, does anyone here actually believe Muschamp would come here?
