  1. More power to the military people. I'm not built like that. That's why I didn't sign on the dotted line. I have problems with people who aren't known to be smarter than me, telling me what to do. Some cursing I can understand but constant cursing or cursing out someone is another story in my book.
  2. It's funny, CWT beasted and can't envision him cursing students out, Tony Dungy, Allen, Holtz (after us)... There's no need for a grown man to curse out a young man to be successful. I have to disagree with you. I don't know about you, but there is no venue that I would allow someone to curse me out without any immediate repercussions. Allowing someone to talk to you like that isn't a sign of strength. If anything it makes you look like that Ohio player.
  3. They're up by 15. Making a statement for themselves. Plus I don't like Ohio, felt they cheated against Michigan.
  4. I agree on both fronts. My personal belief is that some of that Tom Allen love was media influenced. Every game you watched on TV they were talking about "Bull Sharks" and what he did at his previous school. I also take issue with the fact that he came in for 1 year and jumped ship sideways. Which put us in the situation we're in. I think Woodie had big shoes to fill because of the previously mentioned expectation that may or may not have been realistic. Plus the fact that it was Woodie's first DC job. I believe it's a mix of inexperience and lack of player discipline/personal accountability. How do players run the same defense but forget how to tackle, contain, hold their gaps, take the right angles? If Allen was such a good coach and teacher, how do the players unlearn what they were taught? I believe those same issues existed last year but were masked by energy and positive press.
  5. Navy, Maryland, FSU, Memphis, WKU are burned into my mind. I feel like the love for him was a mix of three things: 1. His energy. His defense was aggressive whether it was inherently good or not. 2. He Followed Chuck Bresnhan... 3. The offenses we faced were building and not as potent as they are now. I built in a disclaimer saying I was bored lmbo
  6. Leap years only exist because DJ sometimes wants extra sleep in the month of February.
  7. To pay devil's advocate, hasn't the Game of football changed dramatically during this time span? If you're in a conference with high powered offenses, doesn't that skew the numbers a little? If you're in a conference that's run heavy and your great at stopping the run, you look like a defensive king. On the other side, if you're in a conference where no one can run the ball... In the first half of the season we couldn't stop anyone from running on us. Second half of the season we couldn't stop anyone from passing. I honestly believe these numbers are unfairly impacted by sample size and the change in the game. (Plus I'm bored)
  8. Hopes and dreams man, hopes and dreams. I'm not a big sports guy. I love Bulls football because I went to school there and have fond memories. I learn most of what I know or don't know here and through articles via espn or Twitter. So I hope that people working with our team who are good at their jobs want to stay.
  9. It was my assumption that coaches here wanted to stay. And our O-line over performed and our offense is beast. I'm more concerned with the other side of the ball. That was my point.
  10. I CAN'T WAIT to see his highlight reel from this year... can that be cut down to a 3 min video???
  11. I see your point and I'll counter with a loss of coach on our side. There's more disdain in my text than sarcasm. I can't stand how espn worships the ground the SEC walks on. But if what they say is true... We are a darn good team considering my previous statements.
  12. Plus against the mighty SEC, holding the line is an extreme improvement
  13. The all powerful SEC you say. The conference who's weakest teams can give the Browns a run for their money??? Their middle of the pack teams should easily handle any G-5 team. If you drink that kool-aid of course.
  14. Posted on another thread, thought it was worth sharing here as well: I know it's the "cool thing" to harp on the defense BUT this same defense created 4 turnovers AND came up with the stop in overtime. Not saying they were without flaw but they deserve some credit. They had a freaking pic 6 for crying out loud. Our offense got conservative AND slowed down once we got our double digit lead in the 3rd. That's a terrible combo hence the lag in defense and the need for an overtime. Just different perspective

  16. Can I officially say Flowers is the G.O.A.T.? Holds pretty much all the records. Beat 2 maybe 3 ranked teams. And he beat an SEC team. Plus lead the most winning team we've ever had.
  17. Is it all the coaches who left? Is it uninspired playing because of the opponents/destination? I want to believe the AAC is a decent conference. I even was slowly starting to buy into the P6 narrative. It's hard to keep the faith when we're getting destroyed in head to heads by what should be inferior opponents. Were we (conference) winning head to heads against teams who weren't truly good? Did we lose some swagger in the off weeks? Is there something about the bowl match ups that the records aren't showing? Help me understand why the conference is falling flat on its face this bowl season.
  18. I can get behind this. Not once has he shown any sign of being anything less than a stand up guy. I'm proud to have him on the field representing the university but most importantly, I'm proud of how he represents himself.
  19. Y'all are cold blooded. I get a down vote for saying that I'm neutral towards Holtz and for clearing the record on my words. Smh
