  1. $500 million in renovations to be exact. http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/miami-dolphins/sfl-dolphins-hurricanes-ready-to-rock-hard-rock-stadium-20160817-story.html
  2. Agreed. Pitiful attendance by the students. Not even half full (maybe closer to 1/4 filled). I know we have sucked, but I remember it being impossible to find a seat by the pirate ship in my day ('03-'06). They have to be there plain and simple.
  3. This^ I was there and it must have been 100 degrees and everyone seemed to be in the club level or below deck avoiding the heat. I would have guessed 20k max.
  4. +1...Though I think the D in the 2nd half shows what happens when we force TOs. Without TOs we still seem to have that bend don't break D. Any team with a power run game will continue to give us fits (looking at you Navy) and our scheme and personnel just will have a hard time stopping it.
  5. Can we find a way to mesh the CJL, mean as heck, punch-you-in-the-mouth defense, with the CWT of the last 12 games offense?
  6. Our talent on O will win us a lot of games. D just needs to hold opponents to 30 or less.
  7. Seminole Warhawks?! My alma mater! Class of '01...dang, that was 15 years ago. Did you go there too?
  8. Gotta love the hometown support, baby! (Dickie V voice) And not to be morbid or crude, but whenever I see Dickie V mentioned in anything I assume it's because he just passed away...Am I a bad person?
  9. Cook may still be hurt (off-season shoulder surgery), Derwin is out and Francois is a FR. I like our chances, especially with our weapons on O.
  10. Guy is a straight-up baller! He is so valuable to our team. D'Ernie, D'Ernie!
  11. UL moves up to #1 or #2 with Bama. Houston moves to #3 if OU wins, #4 if not. FSU goes to #10-15 (i know, wide range, but the voters are hard to predict this time of year) and we crack the top 25 so that FSU can move back up if they win or not drop too far if they lose.
  12. 1) Gators - with BJ on the sideline watching QF continue to run on them in the second half. Man, I always felt if we kept running BJ in the second half of that game coupled with a trick play we win. 2) FSU - love playing them. To me they are the true measuring stick in FL at this time. If you beat them you get way more street cred and the recruits that come with it. Two more weeks! 3) Notre Dame - the history of that program mixed with the Brian Kelly factor is always a great game. I still haven't encountered a better gameday atmosphere than watching the Blue Angels fly over head, with TD Jesus on the background. Plus BK is always great to see agitated!
  13. I have always wondered how the writers and coaches could justify putting a team with a loss in the rankings, regardless of it being a good loss or not, at this point in the season. Point 1: They lost, there are 50+ other teams without a loss (don't fact check me!), no team with a loss should be in the rankings as long as there are 25 FBS teams without a loss. Wins and losses need to matter more regardless of competition. Point 2: How do we KNOW until the end of the year if it's a good loss or not? Ole Miss may lose 7 games this year...we don't know this early how good teams really are at this juncture. That's why I always really liked the BCS rankings. Yes, it's an algorhythm that can be manipulated by weighting, but ultimately the formulas seemed to work...not to mention they didn't come out until week 6 (7?), which allowed the teams to have a larger body of work. All rankings at this point in the season are beauty contests meant to get eyeballs on the the games. That being said, I want us to be ranked again!
  14. So I know everyone is up in arms right now, but how has no one else given J props for his Buzz from Home Alone A, Two, D reference?! Kudos to you sir!
  15. Not gonna respond, wouldn't be prudent (Dana Carvey doing Bush voice).
  16. Haha, thanks. I ducked after I let that one fly! What I meant to say was the media noche is the best, tied only with Pubix subs and chicken wings!!!! But seriously, by shear volume of meat alone, Brocato's holds dear place in my heart. Though I I'm down in SFL and La Spada's is tough to beat.
  17. I disagree, the media noche from WT Sandwich Shop is a very good sandwich, but I think the cuban from Brocato's is the best sandwich in Tampa.
  18. Fort Lauderdale Bull here who used to work in the Design District. Stay in Brickell or Downtown MIA (basically the same 'hood) and cab/uber back and forth between there, Wynwood, Midtown and the Design District - maybe SoBe if you REALLY need that Miami party scene. Hit up Perricone's, the Corner Bar and Ceviche 105 in downtown/Brickell; Wynwood Brewery and Wood Tavern in Wynwood; Prohibition, Sugarcane and Gigi in Midtown; and Michael's Genuine and Harry's Pizzeria (same owner as Michael's) in the Design District. Also, if you get sick of Me-ah-me, come to Broward and check out Funky Budha, Rhythm and Vine, Riverside Market and LauderAle. Oh, and watch our Bulls kick some ass!!!!
  19. BB - Thanks for the analysis. I hadn't heard that before the game. Sounds like the strategy was working through the first half, but kindof wore down in the second. Was our D that bad or did we just go cold?
  20. Ouch, losing a home opener to a Sun Belt team is not the way to open a season. I know they have played us tough in the past, but if we are ever going to be a respected program we cannot lay eggs to such lesser teams - especially on our home floor. We should have the bodies and talent to simply wear a team like Troy down and pull away in the second half, but it sounds like the exact opposite happened. On a positive note, Perry seemed to have a pretty good game and it's great to see him back out there on the court.
  21. Wait, are we sure we REALLY want Huell? I know he's a beast, but he doesn't look like he would move very well out on the court!
  22. Wow, thought McCarney was pretty good while here. What are the chances this is the work of DC Chris Cosh and his "shatter but down break" defense???
