  1. I wouldn't be surprised if Vegas has them favored over us...
  2. I've noticed it. Can't seem to close out would-be meaningful wins lately, regardless of sport. 86-80 with a little over a minute left, and somehow we just wind up on the wrong end of it. Jose will get this team to the tourney I'm sure, which is a nice accomplishment, so I don't mean to knock him/the team too much, but we're 0-4 against ranked teams. Had our opportunities against Ohio State and Michigan, but can never seem to close out the big ones. As far as other sports, our Men's team was up by 9 in the second half vs. Auburn and faltered down the stretch in another game where we were around 50% from the line. Football: inside the 20 with under a minute left vs. the Gators. The snap gets by Bohanon. Then a bad hold/missed FG at the end. Cincinnati: Can't convert 4th and 1 late in the 4th (swing pass) and wind up losing that. UCF: Have the ball and the lead late in the 4th, run 3 HB dives, give the ball back, UCF drives down for the winning score. It's ALWAYS something with USF Athletics. The effort has been there, but I don't see any moral victories in winnable games like that. Just a bunch of Ls.
  3. Or better yet, ACCEPT the status quo.
  4. We were up by 18 at one point, and up by 6 with about a minute left in OT against the #3 team in the Country. It's a moral victory. Stop arguing. Except the status quo. We can't have nice things here.
  5. Ego? What ego? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xaDDV-daUdA
  6. The potential hiring of Chadwell reminds me more of the Skip hire than it does of Scott. Just wondering what effect a Chadwell hiring will have on the players who may be on the fence about transferring out and may be hoping for Deion. Considering the amount of work that needs to be done, especially on defense, what will this look like if Chadwell's not a lights-out recruiter here? This might require a little time and patience. FWIW, I do like the offense Chadwell runs at CCU, and I think it could work here.
  7. Had to get that bit of nothingness off my chest. Every time I hear his name anymore, I remember that post, and I hear his name a lot lately. I honestly don't remember any clock management issues with Leavitt though, but it's been awhile...
  8. I'm remember reading a post years ago where somebody said that whenever we build a stadium, in front should be a statue of Leavitt calling his 3rd timeout of the half with 14 minutes left in the 3rd qtr.
  9. Same impression I had of him. Wish the guy could have at least had his moment in the Sun with a W against the Gators. Wish the best for him but this move had to be made...
  10. I get what you're saying. A game against Notre Dame would probably bring more viewers (and a nice payday) than our entire AAC schedule combined. Us beating ND in 2011 though might be a bad example. It was nice to have our moment in the Sun with that win, but that didn't stop us from going into a tailspin immediately afterwards. We went 4-7 the rest of the season, 3-9 the following season, then were relegated to the AAC and largely forgotten about. That win is certainly more memorable than any win we'll ever have over ECU, Temple, Tulsa, etc. Hard to say what it's done for the program exactly, or how much it matters now...
  11. The question looks a little different if worded like this: Would you rather be in the old Big East (or any BCS/Power conference), and beat Notre Dame and finish the season 5-7, or in the AAC and go 11-2 and end the season ranked with a win over SC in a bowl?
  12. Just clicked on the link, and they have the radio call of the USF-WKU Bowl game from 2015. Strange.
  13. We have more weapons on offense now than when CJS arrived in 2019. Outside of the Florida game, Trickett/Scott haven’t been able to put it together yet, but there is some talent to work with there. The defense looks to have taken a step or two backwards
  14. This was especially true in 2016 with Raymond Woody at DC. Taggart was a great recruiter here and ran the perfect offense for the personnel he had. The ball was almost always out of QF's hands quickly, unlike Gilbert and Bell who tried to run an offense that our OL wasn't fit for. Hopefully a minor miracle happens and CJS turns this around, but if that doesn't happen, I wouldn't mind seeing the GCO return. We could probably actually have a good offense with our current lineup in that system....
  15. Consecutive games with 30+ points? I forget how long the streak was exactly...
  16. The GCO worked beautifully. Always felt like Willie had the right supporting cast here (Hiller, Hope, Weis, Tom Allen on D in 2015) that he couldn't quite recreate at his other stops. Not sure exactly who deserves the most credit for that offense being what it was. Was always curious how much influence Kinnan had here. I wanted Weist to get the gig as well, to keep that offense in place.
  17. Agreed, and I know I was reaching with that statement. CWT and his staff had an offense custom-built for QF, and surrounded him with weapons. GB doesn't quite look comfortable yet in this offense to say the least. GB, or one of the other QBs will have to help around any potential turnaround. Not expecting Mr. Bohanon to suddenly show pin-point accuracy against ECU, but maybe we're at the point where we start seeing gradual improvement.
  18. Not exactly apples for apples, but Taggart's teams looked pretty inept in his first two years here. He started out 1-3 in his 3rd year (2015). Losses to FSU, Maryland and Memphis, with the only win coming against FCS FAMU. Syracuse was game #5 year 3 for CWT in 2015. CJS is at the exact same spot now....game #5 year 3.....and is probably more desperate for a win than CWT was back then. Would love for history to repeat itself, and this staff manages to turn this thing around this week.
  19. At least CJS got himself out of the doghouse for one week anyway, albeit with a loss. Baby steps...
  20. Love what Battie brings to this team. Reminds me a lot of Lindsey Lamar who played here about a decade ago..
  21. I wish Hill had the presence of mind to just flop in that situation...
  22. Bohanon was better by far in the pre-season. His completion percentage was 13 points higher than any other QB, including Timmy. Who knows what last night would have looked like with Timmy at QB, but I guess it's irrelevant now. GBs passing numbers were better last year at Baylor, and he has a lot to work with on offense here. Just a matter of getting in sync with a new set of receivers. I think Scott chose the right guy at QB, but can't really argue that he's been underwhelming so far.
  23. Pretty much sums up how I felt when I read that....
  24. Maybe because Bohanon was only 12-28 (2 INTs) up to that point? Scott probably had more confidence in Bohanon picking up a few yards with his legs to get us in position for the tying FG, and why wouldn't he have at that point? There will always be a handful of things to second-guess in a tight game like this, but the bottom line is, this staff put us in position to win a game that many of us didn't think was all that winnable coming in. Your questions, along with GhostBuster's in the OP, may be legit, but all in all, I think they called a very good game tonight.
