  1. Tom Allen had a fiery personality, and his defense responded well to him I thought. The Bullshark thing was pretty well received here.
  2. We'll score a couple TDs in garbage time against their 2nd stringers and receive praise for not quitting.
  3. Mount Rushmore of USF rock bottoms. When I read that, I instantly had the image of Skip in his white windbreaker and white hat, with total confusion etched on his puss. The last few games of his final season here were the worst in my opinion. The decline was undeniable at that point, even for the Skip apologists. McNeese was really bad too, but it was Willie's first game and he was trying to implement that brand new offense, so he got a pass on that one as far as I was concerned. There are enough signs of a possible turnaround right now that it doesn't feel like rock bottom, even though our record sucks.
  4. Timmy not finding an open receiver has been a constant problem this year. Not sure there's been much improvement with him.
  5. 3rd & 20, we give up an 18 yard run, then a 2 yard run. Seems like I've seen similar situations 1,000 times this year with this defense. So frustrating.
  6. This whole stadium thing is beginning to feel like the Yahoo Finance boards where the pumpers constantly speculate about whatever stock they're pushing that "this is the week we go to the moon". Those dudes never get discouraged when their predictions come up empty, they just choose another date in the near future and do it all over again. Not saying the stadium thing won't happen....I'm in no position to know....but there was a thread awhile back saying we'd hear something that week, and nothing. Now maybe this week. Meanwhile, mostly silence from anybody who matters on this subject.
  7. Well, Cincy is 6th in the Playoff rankings. All the more need for a huge win against us.
  8. They also struggled with Navy. Not exactly apples for apples, but I remember Willie's absolute worst team (2013, the team that was blown out by McNeese), nearly beating a Top 20 UCF team at their stadium. Not much would surprise me against Cincy....whether we lose by 40, or it we hang in there with them. Easy to imagine a scenario similar to Cincy-Tulane, or our game with SMU where we're competitive for awhile, and they slowly pull away late. A win there would give us our first significant headlines in quite some time.
  9. The ESPN predictor thing has Cincy at a 94.1% chance of beating us. That is a Friday night game on the road for them. Their remaining scedule: Tulsa, USF, SMU, and ECU. The SOS there is not doing them any favors in their playoff quest. They'll need to beat the crap out of us, and everybody else on their remaining schedule. A lot of pressure on them, next to none on us. They have SMU after us. Not sure if SMU is good enough that Cincy will get caught looking ahead to that game when they face us,, but they are ranked and will be Cincy's biggest remaining game. Tulane managed to hang around with them for awhile. Hopefully Weis can draw up a good game plan, and we can score enough to keep the pressure on them. They're a good, well coached AAC team. They're not Georgia.
  10. I wouldn't be in total shock if we beat Tulane, and possibly UCF, but I agree with you here. We're pretty evenly matched with Tulane, and that game is in New Orleans. If I had to bet, I'd bet on 2-10 as well. Disappointing, because I thought I saw at least a couple more wins than that earlier this year.
  11. Neyland stadium had the troughs in the early 2000's. That was my first time seeing such a thing. Thought it was weird, but it definitely helps reduce lines...
  12. He did, but we just didn't have the O-Line to run that offense, which was just horrible overall. In White's first year here, Taggart tried Mat Floyd, Bobby Eveld, Steven Bench, and White that year, and aside from White against Houston (and even that was a loss), nothing was working. Year two wasn't much better. Happy for him that he was able to get out of here and end up where he is now. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't they planning to redshirt White, but just couldn't stomach Floyd, Eveld, or Bench anymore? Floyd was the starter heading into the 2013 season. That dude had a serious problem with fumbling snaps from the center. Bench and Eveld were ineffective. Thought they burned his redshirt out of desperation at that point.
  13. He had two full seasons here, two seasons that I'm sure White would like to forget. Pretty sure he would like to be remembered for what he did at WKU.
  14. Their version of Bobby Bowden, or something like it. I was only semi serious about him coming here in the case of TCU poaching Scott (I know, that's not happening). They wanted Patterson to finish the season, but he declined. No idea if he wants a fresh start elsewhere, or if his desire to do this anymore is waning.
  15. The name is vaguely familiar. I had to look that game up because I was pretty certain it wasn't White. He **** sure torched our defense in that game. Sucked losing to a C-USA team there after having such a strong finish that season.
  16. I suppose we'd take Patterson in that case. He helped TCU get to the Big 12, maybe he could do the same for us....
  17. White wasn't the QB for WKU in that game. It was somebody by the name of Brandon Doughty. He threw for 461 against us. I'm guessing White was a back-up to Doughty.
  18. If we win, or at least keep it close, those will be the reasons, but Houston looks too tall a task for us right now. They would really have to come out flat, and we will have to be at our best to win this. If we do somehow get the win over #20 Houston, I'm wondering what the attendance will look like when #2 Cincy comes to town.
  19. We'll have Timmy back. We have nine days to prepare. We'll go back to the offense that worked against Temple. Houston will have a letdown after the emotional win over SMU. Houston by 24. No idea what the attendance will look like.
  20. ****. White threw for over 400 yards and 3 TDS. Also got the win for the Jets. Congrats to him.
  21. 74 degrees, night game, Top 20 opponent, and still a spotty looking crowd for Houston. Was expecting a better turnout for this one...
