Skip actually did have success before he arrived here, and after, so maybe he was more qualified, but my goodness, the Holtz-Scott comparison is utterly depressing. The team just completely quit on Skip in his last year here. This year's team has shown a lot of fight. Just a lot of youth and a depleted defense.
BTW, that Miami game where Skip passed up on a couple of shots at the end zone, down 16-0, in favor of letting around 30 seconds run off to attempt the FG, they actually missed the short FG. Sums up his tenure here. Loved the win at Notre Dame, but can't forget that conservative nature of his. I'll take the potential I think I see in Scott over Skip any day.
