  1. ECU is ranked high in run defense because they are putting up tons of points and forcing teams to abandon the run and pass to keep up. If USF has some success running early on and can keep in striking distance they will have a chance to wear ECU's run defense down. I just hope it doesn't get to the point where we must abandon the run because that won't bode well.
  2. UCF looked the better team with Taysom Hill out. Besides a 3 minute stretch in the 3rd quarter aided by some lucky bounces BYU scored 3 points.
  3. I never said signing Harris was wrong. I only said signing kids that have shown to be violent in the past is wrong. I only said not handling the situation appropriately after they are on campus is wrong. In fact I have used the Harris example as the correct way to do things. that's how Winston at FSU should have been handled the first time he was in trouble, the 2nd time he was in trouble and the third time he was in trouble. Oh, my mistake. I thought you had said it was possible to eliminate the problems by recruiting the right kids.
  4. The funny thing is USF actually recruited and offered Treon Harris and would have jumped at the opportunity to have him playing in green and gold. It was Harris' decision to go to a better program in UF not USF that avoided this problem occuring here.
  5. Where did I say that we wouldn't rush for 106 yards? Is 106 yards the barometer for success? The reality is that most of the games that ECU has played they have forced teams to abandon the run to play catch up. If we can keep pace with some early points then I could see running the ball successfully, but if we get down a couple scores early it's going to be a long day.
  6. Would be even nicer if this was remotely true. ECU statistically will be the best run D we will have played. They have allowed 106 yards per game which is 17th in the country.
  7. Wisconsin has lost 4 straight against P5 teams. I think they were a bit overrated. With that said I think ECU is also overrated. The problem is we will probably need to score at least 30 points to have a chance and that is something that hasn't happened in a very long time against a FBS team.
  8. The best pick seems to be to always take the team playing UConn. They haven't covered a spread this year.
  9. Lines were USF -27 vs WCU USF +11 vs Maryland USF +2.5 vs NC State USF -1.5 vs UConn USF +32.5 @ Wisconsin So 3-2 against the spread.
  10. I wouldn't touch this line. Memphis -4 hosting Houston looks intriguing though.
  11. Memphis may go undefeated in the AAC. They don't play ECU and just whooped Cincinnati.
  12. both offenses looked pitiful. i think we have a good chance in both games at home.
  13. Combined 0-4 against teams with a pulse. Neither looks good at all.
  14. The Baylor performance?? The UCF D didn't do anything that special in that game. BU rolled up the yardage and 42 points. It was the UCF offense that carried that game ... Did you read the lawsuit? That is Ferraro's allegation from the suit, not mine. He claimed that Summers was on the way in and he was on the way out after the Baylor game. That part I possibly agree with. The rest seems farfetched and fabricated.
  15. It's not about racism. It's obvious that he has African American players and coaches on the team. However, if some of the comments are proven to be true it speaks poorly about his character. BTW, why would a coach like Ferraro make something like this up...without evidence...or more than just he said she said? Part of me hopes its not true b/c I would hate to think that there are still ppl in positions of power that stool think and act like this... Money? Maybe because without tossing in some racist remarks the other accusations of micro-managing and belittling aren't grounds for a lawsuit. Ferraro admits that he never mentioned the racist remarks prior to the lawsuit and waited months before bringing the suit. If what he says is true, that he was belittled in front of the entire staff, there will be witnesses called and the truth should come out. More likely is UCF just pays the guy to make this go away.
  16. Weird. The UCF WR and RB coaches are both African-American. If there was discrimination going on I would expect them to speak up before Ferraro. I believe he was being pushed out, but not because O'leary is a racist, but because they wanted Summers to take over the defense after the Baylor performance.
  17. So the 2 games out of 5 that are home games are in 2022. Am I reading that correct?
  18. Some positives from the first half of the game for sure, but let's get win #3 first. Looking at the schedule if we don't win on the road at Tulsa we are probably staring 2-7 in the face which makes this thread look silly. The 3 gimmie wins on the schedule were WCU, UConn, and SMU, and the first 2 haven't exactly inspired much confidence. At this point the best we can say is we are a little bit better than WCU, UConn and Stony Brook. NC State leading Florida State is a non factor considering they curbstomped us. I would be concerned that our last 2 FBS wins have come by a combined 6 points over a team that is currently getting crushed by Temple.
  19. Wisconsin punted 0 times in the second half. That cost us the game.
  20. Sigh. Your point here is almost as offbase as DC's about Wisky < Maryland. Those weren't unforced turnovers. We held guys like Diggs down. The D came to play that day. I don't know that Maryland is "much better" than us, quite yet. Maybe much better is an overstatement, but if we play that game 10 times we probably lose 9 of them and most by more than a 7 point margin. Forcing 6 turnovers with 1 returned for a touchdown and being +5 in turnover margin and still losing the game at home pretty much says we have a long way to go toward being respectable. Sure they were "forced" turnovers, but still not something that can be counted on to keep us in games going forward. After the 5 turnovers that weren't returned for TDs we scored a grand total of 0 points. Maryland turned it over several times when they were driving in position to get points. I don't know what in the second half showed that if we don't have a punt blocked for a touchdown maybe we win the game. We still had no way to move the ball or score.
  21. Crazier things have happened. Wasn't Taggart at Stanford when they won a game against USC when USC was favored by 40+? Sounds like good mojo.
  22. Maryland is a much better team than us. Wisconsin is better than Maryland. You can point to a couple of plays that could have gone our way in the Maryland as to why we didn't win a close one. Maryland can point to 6 turnovers as to why they didn't win by 30.
