Technically this is true only if you are referring to it with a one dimensional observation (ignoring that the sub has a depth.)

Also this is true only if you are getting the mid-section of a sub which have the ends cut off

 

If the sub still has both uncut ends (which are rounded) and you are still describing it with a one dimensional observation, then the shape would be classified as a "stadium".
