However, we need to just sit back and take the criticisms; because we know that we are better than this (potentially).

He's still a young guy at 45 and has spent valuable time as an assistant under Billy Donovan both at Florida and Marshall. He has high character. He also has run his own program, coaching South Alabama and Arkansas, winning 54 percent of his games and going to two NCAA Tournaments. And he knows how to recruit in Florida. Actually, USF interviewed Pelphrey back in 2007 before hiring Heath. Right now, USF is not a good job. Forget all that stuff about facilities and weather and conference and so forth. This will only be a good job when the right coach comes and makes it a good job by turning USF into a winner. Pelphrey seems like the right fit. He lose all creditability when he brought up John Pelphrey's name to take the job. Only a person that doesn't care about USF men basketball would want John Pelphrey to take over the job. He isn't as good of a coach as Stan Heath.

USF just needs to step up and get a good big name Coach, MONEY TALKS. A good example of this is SMU hiring Larry Brown, that is what a big name coach will do for a program. They are also paying the Assistant Coach/the coach in waiting 1 million a year. He knows little about USF or other schools in the state of Florida. He may know his Penn State, but he should keep some of his off the wall comments about USF to himself. And yes, that article loses credibility when his top choice for USF is John Pelphrey. He fails to release that USF already had interest in him the last go around and he kind of stuck his nose up at USF because of the facilities. I doubt USF lowers themself to ask him again especially since the guy failed at Arkansas. We already tried a former ARK coach, so no way the big time boosters, Harlan, and Judy want to go there again. I just dont see that happening. Their new business model for the online paper is so woefully out of touch that I can't even pretend like they may not be aware of the fact; it's a move that screams of such desperation, it's almost embarrassing. When combined with the fact that it's so easily defeated by disabling Java, using an anonymous/cloaked/private browser, or simply removing the overlay using tools built-in to almost every major modern browser, it's almost as if they're hoping to fail. If you're going to try to lockbox your content, at least hire someone with a high school diploma to handle your IT work.
