Any chance we can get him? Would be nice to get at least one of these transfers to come here.

Lunt was a pretty strong prospect coming out of high school. One would think he would have some decent interest from other programs. If he was going to go smaller program, Southern Miss would seem to be the logical fit, but I imagine he'll have a not insignificant list to choose from. My first guess would be far long shot at absolute best.

There's a pretty in depth discussion of this on the the P&P board.

Good write up of past year at OSU..

Quarterback Wes Lunt is transferring from OSU, and a three-man QB derby becomes a two-man derby that really is a two-man job. It seems quite clear that Clint Chelf will start the 2013 as the Cowboy starter, with J.W. Walsh set to be a situational quarterback for short-yardage and goal-line situations. In other words, just like Mike Gundy suggested going into spring practice, before backtracking and saying it was all a wide open competition.

What are we to make of Lunt’s departure? A few things:

ESPN made a top-5 list of most likely destinations for Lunt.  We were not one of them.  Plus I'm not sure if he would be immediately eligible anyway.  If not, no real pressing need to being him in.  Would rather keep that depth chart bare for a baiting True Frosh  (ie Alin Eduoard).

OSU not going to let him go to his top 3 picks   ..This whole QB transfer situationis getting to be like musical chairs.. The last two are Louisville...doesn't make to much sense with the exting QB

and Illinois...I wonder if he is willing to expand the list???

Here a link to the latest write up..  I wonder if CWT has any interest???

He is not going to Southern Miss or any B12 or SEC team.   They are blocking him.

According to the Tulsa World, Lunt will not be allowed by Oklahoma State to transfer to a school in the Big 12, SEC or to Southern Mississippi (whose new coach, Todd Monken, was previously Oklahoma State's offensive coordinator).

I think that Gundy will feel pressure to back off his ridiculous list and he'll get one of his top choices.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
