The NCAA is a union of schools... if they tried to tell the conferences, which are sovereign and independent, who they can take and who they can't then you would see a new NCAA spring up shortly there after.

Wouldn't be surprised if the Elite 64 do this anyway...

+1 or make a new division in NCAA and get a stipend of $5-10k dollars a semester for every football player.

I think the NCAA should hire a commissioner to come in and straighten this whole mess out. This would be my proposed re-alignment and it seems to make too much sense and would keep the most people/fans/networks happy.
