Being from the Midwest, it's not hard to understand the etymology of this game's name. You put corn in a bag and throw it in the hole... Cornhole.

Agreed.  It evoked a snicker when I first heard about it and thought about alternate meanings, but I usually see a bunch of those at UGA or GT games and no else is laughing. 

Do they call it cornhole up there?
