Terrence Leather Suspended for UAB Game

TAMPA, Fla. (Friday, January 28) – Senior forward Terrence Leather has been suspended for the University of South Florida men’s basketball contest versus the UAB Blazers on Saturday, Jan. 29 for conduct detrimental to the team, head coach Robert McCullum announced today.

Leather, a native of Tampa, is averaging a team-high 17.7 points per game, shooting 52.5 percent on the season. The Bulls forward is on pace to become USF’s 16th 1,000-point scorer needing just 31 points to achieve this feat. Leather has recorded four double-double, scoring 20-or-more points in seven games during the 2004-05 season. The suspension snaps a streak of 23-consecutive games played for Leather, dating back to last season’s 68-60 win over Southern Miss (Feb. 13, 2004).

The USF/UAB contest will tip off at 8:30 p.m. (ET) at Bartow Arena.

Any speculation as to what detrimental conduct is?  Something happen at practice today?

Not sure, my guess is he mouthed off to Mac about mac pulling him out of the game with 3 fouls at the 10 min mark of the first half.

BTW, does the team fly commercial?  If so, I hope they are not going through Atlanta to get to UAB.  Atlanta is basically shutting down now and will probably not be in operation tomorrow.  Hope they made it.
