Drove down to Lockhart t'other day for some BBQ at Smitty's, and had my first RC Cola in a looong time. Tasted real fine.

Don't see it too often these days.

You ever get to these parts, Lockhart's got the best BBQ in Texas.

Around 20 years ago my wife and I drove up to NY for a wedding. On the trip we swung by Atlantic City staying at the Trump Plaza for a couple of nights.  When the bell hops were getting our bags out of car trunk, the baggage handler noticed some 16 oz. bottles of RC Cola loose rolling around in trunk. Well the kid picked one up and started whooping and hollering because I guess the big 16 oz. bottles weren't common in New Jersey area and he started showing it to the other kids at the bell hop stand and a near riot started with the guys all ogling the novelty soda bottle.  High roller that I am, I told all of them to grab a bottle and it was like I was handing out $100 bills the way they all got worked up with the RC Colas and thanking me!

This thread makes me want to drink one. Think I'll head out now and go find one to celebrate the VCU win!!

Orange Nehi was a favorite of mine too, and I think Nehi used to have strawberry flavor if you looked around.  Used to buy them when I was a kid for 10 cents with empty bottles with the 2 cent bottle return deposit.  Sodas were a treat when I was a kid, you might have gotten 1 or 2 or 3 a week tops--there weren't cases of them sitting in my family's "ice box."
