Derek Shaw Miami's first recruit this year de-committed from the CANES yesterday.  The 6'4"  205lb Q.B. said, after playing in the CAL-FLA game it was just too far from home.   Shaw is taking a visit to Arizona St. who has already offered.

The CANES said good-bye to Cedric Hill a D.E. from GA., that signed with the CANES last FEB. but due to grades could not get in, Hill is Going to South Florida along with another guy named MUY.

I think they want him as a receiver.

I hope he sees plainly that we need a QB and that if he is good enough, he WILL play QB.

They'll promise QB and just switch him in a year or two.  Before their QB de-committ it was obvious he wouldn't really get a shot.  Now they can lie and say, "you're are only QB for this year".  Wait till next year when they sign 2 or 3.

as i said in another post... they already have 2 big itme, all american QB's on thier roster with prob 3-4 yrs of eligibility left for each, so signing a QB this year is not crucial.  Since Hill isnt really their type, it is fairly obvious they are recruiting him as an athlete

They've only got two quarterbacks on their roster.  They need depth immediately.  Two injuries and Hill is the starter.  The chances of an injury to a QB are always very high.  As the third QB option he'll already be on the travel squad as a freshman.  One injury and now he's the backup.  He'll get minutes as a freshman if an injury should occur.  He can run and throw which may end up being to his advantage.  The two QBs on roster aren't known for light feet.  He waffled on rivals again.  If you read his latest interview, you won't be pleased.  Still, Grothe is a good pick up.  He's gonna be your starter in no time.  Be happy.
