Before the season, Pitt, West Virginia, Connecticut ane even Cincinnati were getting some love and respect on the national scene.  After last night's latest debacle in Raleigh, Big East football has thus far failed to even show up for the 2010 campaign.  Big games the next couple of weeks may decide if the Big East is totally relegated to afterthought status for this season.  Some featured stops on tour:

WVU  Sept. 18 Maryland and Sept. 25 at LSU

UConn Sept. 18 at Temple

Pitt Sept. 23 Miami

Cinci Sept 25 Oklahoma

Rutgers Sept. 25 North Carolina

While you have to give credit that these are some pretty ambitious schedules, if a majority of these are losses, or if the games in bold go south, the fragile reputation of the Big East could take a big hit.  And if the league does the traditinal thing of beating up on each other, it could become a challenge just to keep any Big East teams in the top 25.  It's a long season but the next two weeks could be very telling.

No one should be surprised by Cincinnati. They lost a ton on defense and that wasn't even that good of a defense to begin with.

NC State obviously watched the Fresno-Cincinnati game film and knew to blitz at will because Cincy's O-Line isn't good.
