12:15 p.m.: If there was any doubt where Nebraska is headed in its future conference affiliation, that should have been laid to rest by the note card Athletic Director Tom Osborne carried in hand when he arrived at the N.U. Board of Regents meeting Friday.

He sat down and started reviewing the hand-written notes on the card, at the top of which were written "Big 10'' and "Reasons.''

The regents shortly thereafter broke for lunch. They are to take up the issue of conference alignment when they reconvene at 1 p.m.

So the Big Ten is now 12 members... and the Big 12 is now 10 members... and the Pac 10 is now 11 members.

wow they are joining the big 10 for the 2011 season according to omaha.com.  that means expansion is probably going to crank up a notch the next week or two.

The chancellor also said that under the circumstances that nebraska was put in by other Big 12 members not knowing what they would do, they do no expect to pay any fee for breaking their contract.
