Will There Be An Official Investigation with Every McHack Story from now on?

I just wondered if USF is going to get bogged down having an investigation with every inaccurate story Brett McHack puts out on his Bush League website.

Seems like overkill to me, but that is today's media and political correctness!

Seriously, how can reporters get away with unamed sources and printing viral crap like this without backup, and not get in trouble. I hope when it is all said and done, USF goes after this guy with a vengeance.

Think of it this way - should a reporter be forced to name a mob snitch when reporting on the arrest of a mob boss?  Should a corporate whistleblower be named in the press if all accounts turn out to be true?  Anonymity is required sometimes when there is an allegation made where the victim or witness could be threatened or intimidated.

Now I realize those questions are very different situations that what Leavitt is facing, but the same holds true - people should just be patient and let this all play out.  If it turns out to be false, then in this situation, you can say "unnamed sources" are bogus in this story only, but if this turns out to be true, it's those unnamed sources that will end up making the difference here.
