Haven't seen this discussed on the board yet - but what was John Thompson thinking when he accepted that holding penalty when his defense had stopped USF and set up a fourth down???  That was one of the dumbest coaching decisions I've seen in a while.

Hindsight is 20-20. I guess he was maybe banking on an interception or something but didn't he realize that was the ECU defense out there??

I agree, stupid call. My friend and I were shocked when we saw this; it just put the icing on the retarded cake for ECU's coaching staff. I think UCF could beat ECU, or at least outcoach them, and if all else fails O'Leary is bigger and the game could be decided on arm wrestling  8)
