this thread went from rating our fellow BEast teams to an interstate foodfight between Florida and New Jersey that has nothin to do with football.

as far as football goes, Rutgers has indeed ate our lunch the past several years in a row, and that is absolutely attributable to the fact that Greg Schiano repeatedly outcoaches Leavitt year in and year out, fat whiny Bluto-looking greaseball or not.

the Buttgirls fans also have a valid point about recruiting: opening pipelines to other states is a good thing. Leavitt has done a good job forging in-roads with Florida high-schools and competing with other in-state colleges for recruits, but going out and scrounging some up-north talent would do the Bulls good, considering every other team we face in conference play are North of the Mason-Dixon line [except maybe Louisville?] which means at least 1/4 of our schedule will be cold-weather games on any given year.

Buttgirls may have had our number recently, but three years of success does not make up for the 200 years of futility they experienced prior to that.  seeing a 200 year old program storm the field after beating an 11 year old program shows that Rutgers are nowhere near the football tough guys the RU fans here would like to believe.

USF's football program has arguably done more in 12 years than Buttgirls has done in 120, so overeager Jerseyites quick to talk **** need to keep their delusions in perspective.
