Magic Number - 32

Let the count down begin......the Rays magic number to make the playoffs is at 32 (I know most of you know what this is, but for those of you who don't....a magic number is the number of Rays wins and/or the number of your competitions (Twins) losses needed to clinch a playoff spot.....so for every Rays win the magic number decreases by one, and for every Twins loss the magic number decreases by one......when we reach zero we've clinched a playoff spot). 

Some fun numbers to throw around this morning after the great win....

I always loved the naysayers who you could constantly find saying..."wait to June, the Rays will be done".....then it was "wait to July, the Rays will be in third place"....then it was "wait to August, the Rays will fold under the pressure"     Well here we are in August and the Rays have a 14-4 record so far this month.   Then it was...."they just lost Longoria and Crawford, the Rays dream season is over"....well the Rays have managed to go 7-2 without their 2 stars with 7 of those games on the road.   Im just hoping the naysayers keep speaking up.....lol 

Some forgot the Rays started this great season at 8-11......since then they are 69-37, a winning % of .651 over 106 games....simply amazing

thats funny you posted this...on the off day tomorrow i was going to do the math for the Rays magic number...but not for the WildCard...for the AL EAST!!

why would we countdown to the wildcard when we are in 1st place by 4.5 games??
