USF  17  Syracuse  7

Well....  we didn't score as much as people would've liked.  We actually had the ball in the red zone SIX times and only scored on two of them.  The four failed tries were: an INT, a failed fourth down on the 1, and two missed field goals (23 and 30).  So if we actually had some offense going then this game would've been a disaster for the Orange, who was completely punished by the USF defense.  As a whole, the defense gave up 67 TOTAL yards!  Only 1 rushing yard.  The only score for Syracuse was on that INT return, a 95-yarder.

For USF, we compiled 263 yards of total offense.  Grothe went 14-18 for 204 yards a score and an INT.  Ford struggled, gaining just 52 on 17 and a TD.  Marcus Edwards led all receivers with 3 receptions for 96 yards and a touchdown.  Other notables:  TJ Johnson (3-32) and Carlton Mitchell (3-37).  George Baker recorded the INT and the only turnover caused by the Bulls' D.

For Syracuse, Andrew Robinson went 13-18 for 66 yards and a pick.  That's pretty much it.

That brings USF up to 6-1 for the season and 1-1 in conference play.  Unlike last season, it appears we have dodged the losing the streak, so far......

AROUND THE BIG EAST:  Cincy has had ANOTHER Bye Week , UCONN scored a TD with less than minute remaining to knock off Rutgers 38-34, Louisville defeated Mid Tenn State 45-28, Pitt got revenge on NAVY 31-3, and West Virginia had the week off.

STANDINGS:

West Virginia    6-0  (2-0)

Pittsburgh        5-1  (2-0)

Louisville          4-2  (1-0)

USF                6-1  (1-1)

UCONN            4-3  (1-1)

Rutgers          4-3  (1-2)

Cincinnati        3-2  (0-1)

Syracuse          3-4  (0-3)

Another game, another win.  We travel to Papa John's Cardinal Stadium for a chance to beat the Cards for the first time on the road.  Check back on Saturday!!!!!
