Just watched the announcement by Scout. Inc and it looks like Victor Marc is listed as the #96 prospect in the nation and #10 ATH.  It's nice seeing "Verbal USF" next to his name.  I wonder if he'll  be moved up to a 4-star on Scout soon.

Kept watching and they show some highlights of Victor Marc and say that his transfer to a new HS will allow him to show off his QB skills more during his senior year, but he can be a great RB if he doesn't work out at QB.  Sounds good.

USF prospects:

Andre Debose #30 (#4 WR)

Frankie Telfort #39 (#5 OLB)

Jamal Reid is #102 (#13 WR)

Ryne Giddens is #112 (#8 DE)

Eugene Smith is #132 (#13 QB)

No Bradley Battles?  he is a pretty high rated athlete on rivals... figured he'd be somewhat similar on scout.  He is higher rated than marc on rivals.

No Bradley Battles?  he is a pretty high rated athlete on rivals... figured he'd be somewhat similar on scout.  He is higher rated than marc on rivals.

But Scout ranked Battles as a RB rather than an athlete.

Marc was ranked as a QB on Scout. Now, they've ranked him as an athlete.

If he's a top 100 national player, he'll definitely be a four star recruit on Scout.

Does Scout even have a separate ranking for "Athletes" like Rivals?

I didn't realize that he also wants to play baseball at USF.

Evaluation

Marc is very athletic and throws the ball just well enough to keep defenses honest. He is rugged and sturdy but also has smooth, fluid change-of-direction skills for a player his size. He shows exceptional initial burst to and through the hole. He's extremely sudden and quick. Hits tiny creases in-line and almost instantly reaches the second level to make a defender miss or bounce to the perimeter. Shows great vision and hole awareness. He's shifty and can jump-cut through the line, but he is a decisive runner. Sometimes shows the presence of a downhill runner with leg drive and power. Plays with solid pad level and runs square, but shows great hip fluidity and balance to avoid and cut laterally both in-line and at the second level. His burst and short-area quickness is great and his long speed is good, but he isn't a burner at all times. Plays as fast as the defender chasing him. He isn't a quarterback at the next level, but he exhibits awareness, confidence and leadership under center. His scheme versatility stands out. Could handle 30 carries per game between the tackles or serve multiple roles in a single-back, wide-open scheme. Has excellent ball skills and the makings of a very good receiving back. The game comes naturally to Marc, who has big-play ability and can be very, very productive. He's a potential difference-maker on offense, but his true talents may see him moved to running back--or even linebacker.

Notes

Holding approximately 15 scholarship offers (May 2008, GatorCountry.com). High school shortstop who wants to play baseball in college as well. Also recruited by Florida, Ohio State, Mississippi, North Carolina...

I'm sure Lelo would find a spot for him on the Baseball team!  ;)

True.

Also, Leavitt played both baseball and football at Missouri, so maybe that helped convince Marc that he could do the same here.

Other than RJ Anderson, I don't remember another commit who was going to play both sports at USF. Anderson, of course, chose in the end to play professional baseball. Unlike Anderson, I don't know if Marc is expected to be drafted in baseball or how good he is at that sport.

I like that 150 breakdown by state.  I wouldn't have guessed that Georgia would have as many as California and nearly as many as Texas.  I hope we continue to make inroads in Georgia.  Of course, no surprise that Florida leads all states.

Also, doesn't baseball overlap less than basketball does?  BJ Daniels is supposedly going to play basketball so I see no reason to keep someone from playing baseball.  But then, I don't know the practice schedules...

I don't think there is any overlap with baseball and football, like there is with basketball. In fact, according to newspaper accounts the new WVU football coach encouraged Pat White to play baseball this past season to give him a basball option after he graduates. White didn't because he said he couldn't hit the curveball. LOL. He turned down a $400,000 contract in baseball to play football. He's even been drafted while at WVU.

Leavitt, just expects a couple of things from two sport athletes: Don't get injured and keep up your grades.
