Actually Canales is now the Offensive Coordinator and QB coach at Arizona.  I suppose Canales got to know the Stoops brothers through Mark Stoops since he also coached at USF in 1996.  Funny thing is they also have Kevin Patulo as a grad assistant.  A lot of USF connections there.   :)

Come on smazza, Az has beaten Cal two out of the last three times they played them(2001,2002) and the they beat USC two out of the last four times they played them(99,2000).  They beat Cal more then they lost to them.  Now USC has pretty much had their way with them but who hasn't USC had their way with ?

I am sure CJL cannot wait till next year when the new QBs will be competing for the starting job.  I have not seen a game this season yet, but I think these coaches need the huddle and emphasize the run.  Allow these kids to regroup after plays and have no huddle offenses on the quick 2 minute drill.  Forcing the QB into speeding the game (offense) up is going to tire out the QB which will lead to mistakes which will lead to confidence problems.  The offense needs to play a slower pace game to keep the DEFENSE off the field and to give the offense breaks between plays.  In my opinion, this is what will make us successful against the tougher competition.
