The only official thing that I have found from today it that we have offered Luke Sager, a 6-4 240 lb DE from Niceville. Looking for more info on him also.

It only took one offer to seal the deal for North Florida Christian inside linebacker Chase Griffiths. The talented linebacker received his first written offer from South Florida and he committed upon receiving the good news. Even though the Bulls were the first written offer, Griffiths did garnish verbal offers from N.C. State, Rutgers, and East Carolina. FV caught up with the new commitment for the Bulls earlier tonight to talk about his decision. [details]

Hopefully this kid is good and CJL is just showing an eye for talent by offering him before everyone else does.

Tallahassee linebacker Griffiths commits to Bulls

Chase Griffiths, a 6-foot-4, 220-pound linebacker who helped Tallahassee North Florida Christian School to the state championship game as a junior, made an oral commitment to USF on Tuesday.

"It's a can't-miss," NFCS coach Tim Cokely said. "A kid that size who can run and is a full qualifier, there's going to be a lot of interest. Florida State and Notre Dame were interested, but he knew he wanted to play down there. He can really run, so I'd say his best attribute is his agility."

Griffiths, recruited to USF by receivers coach Mike Canales, had 92 tackles in the regular season as a junior, including four sacks and eight tackles for loss. Including playoff games, Scout.com lists him with 120 tackles and four forced fumbles. According to Flavarsity.com, USF was Griffiths' first written scholarship offer, though he had verbal offers from Rutgers, N.C. State and East Carolina. You can see a highlight video of Griffiths on the NFCS website, nflchurch.com.

Griffiths is USF's second commitment for its 2009 class, joining Dunedin running back Adaris Bellamy. Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas receiver Dwayne Difton had committed to the Bulls but has since re-opened his recruitment, though USF remains his top choice.

This kid can move really well for a LB.  Should be a great addition.

At the risk of sounding weird, the size of this kid's jaw and elbow visible in the above picture reveal that he has a huge frame.  He will be a beast after a few years of D1 weight training and diet . . . . . excited to have Griffiths in the USF family.

I definitely trust Leavitt's eye for talent.  Especially at LB.  From day one, that position consistently churns out stud after stud.

another great aspect is this is a top Tallahassee kid and with the Noles in turmoil there is little chance for them to come in and sway his mind no matter how great his senior year in HS is.  Could not have said this just a few years ago.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.

“In my mind, I’m kind of like, ‘OK, excuses over'. We know what we need to do. We’ve got the right team together, and now we move forward, and we’ll evaluate and be accountable to each other, including myself, from this point forward.”
