The staged a walk-out during her lecture, and before she even came on campus, they were passing out fliers telling people not to go see her. That's dumb, even though I think she's a complete waste of matter and a poster child for why people can't discuss politics rationally anymore. Don't go, or at least picket outside. You'll still get your point across and achieve your goal - to get yourself in the newspaper. It was headed by the Femnist Student Assoc. with PRIDE Alliance other groups, College Dems was just one of the organizations involved. here are my sources...http://media.www.usforacle.com/media/storage/paper880/news/2006/10/20/News/Demonstrators.Stage.Walkout.In.Protest.Of.Ann.Coulters.Lecture.Thursday.Night.At-2380057.shtmlhttp://media.www.usforacle.com/media/storage/paper880/news/2006/10/20/News/Controversial.Conservative.Pundit.Elicits.Praise.And.Protest.Thursday-2379854.shtml

An accomplished director (many, many years ago) who is a professed black racist? And both of those guys are hyper-liberals. NOT impressed, I hope USF can do better than these two clowns. care to explain exactly what Spike Lee has said or done that is "racist," big guy? "hyper-liberal" or not, they are succesful individuals. shouldnt their SUCCESS be the prime factor, not their political ideology? of course, if Jerry Springer is a "hyper-liberal" in your book, then nothing left of Adolf Hitler or Bill O'Reilly would be acceptable to u. Do you remember last year when Ann Coulter came to USF? The College Dems tried to boycott her off campus. As much as success should be the focal point, it rarely ever is. Are you serious? I thought Democrats were the only ones who were open-minded and understanding of others' opinions. : Opinions matter when it comes from a credible source, Ann Coulter is not. I for one though do respect her right to freedom of speech, and would grant that constitutional right to any one, really. But, I do not respect the fact that she has plagiarized numerous articles as well as voted twice in the same National election. This is followed by her lack of morales when choosing to attack groups - specifically the widowed victims of 9-11. For being the ultra neo-nazi conservative voice of the Republican party, Fox has surely picked a winner... Again, I may just be one of those crazy liberals : What do you think of Michael Moore? She had a few parting words for them. If you dont want to hear what she has to say dont go. I remember a few years back michael moore came, We (the CR's) did not plan a protest, we just didnt go. I think the reason her and others (like the crazy condemning guy outside cooper allowed on campus) is to stir up the students and try to get them active. So bring whoever, although Jerry Springer is a little odd. Springer is the former Mayor of Cincinnati turned quasi-pornographer. He's a smart guy that should have a lot to say about contemporary media/entertainment since he was a pioneer in making a buck by selling a televised trainwreck.Spike Lee is the write and director of "Do the Right Thing". That alone should pull down an invite to speak even if his recent movies are made for hollywood garbage. The Barber twins are high achievers that grew up with a single mother in rural, white Virginia. They will have a lot to add.

Freedom of Speech protects his rights as an American to say what he chooses (just like Ann Coulter.) He is just on the opposite side of the spin game and is just as successful as O'Riely. Do I personally, like him... no. Does he bring up valid talking points, yes. I think Ron Paul in his wisdom knows that he will not be elected, but will continue to bring up great debate. Why? Based on talking points and the one liners he and his supporters are known for. Same for Moore.. he represents the other side of the coin on issues that Mr. Bush has been successful at creating a bad rap for public policy, but he does present them - which is much more than I can say for most of our elected members in Congress at the moment. At the end of the day, for both Coulter and Moore, their overall "job" is to reach the public with points of view that will enforce the mind set of what is currently in the household - or piss off the other side to no extent. It is that simple and as seen in years past, it works amazingly well.

You must not be a fan of reading... College Dems only participated in the event, we did not organize it. See the previous post above yours for proof.
