Here is a little more information about what could be up happening with the Knights’ final slot on their 2008 non-conference schedule

First off, I hear that it was Eastern Michigan that UCF had a deal all but signed with to come to Orlando in ’08. But apparently the folks at Eastern Michigan called UCF after watching the Knights dismantle Tulsa in the Conference USA title game and had a change of heart. Thus, UCF is still shopping for another game.

To fill the open slot, I also hear that UCF is talking to Rutgers about a possible one and done game next year at their place. The Scarlet Knights, however, are also apparently in discussions with another school about a two-game series which would trump the UCF game.

But if it’s available, UCF is likely to only jump on the Rutgers deal only if it can’t find a home game.

Two Big East opponents on the schedule (USF and Rutgers) would certainly be huge when combined with the trip to Miami already a go. And it’s even bigger if UCF could win one or both of them. Not only would it be good for program visibility, but also in the Florida recruiting wars, since Rutgers Coach Greg Schiano has been raiding the state for several seasons. Not to mention those football camps he stages in the Sunshine State.

That said, you also can’t put a price on another home game either, considering the buzz and the success the Knights had in Year 1 at Bright House Networks Stadium.

In any case, it will be interesting to see how it all shakes out.

Stay tuned…

Spin away Knights.......

Maybe you shouldn't have screwed Pitt out of a game.

Who runs that program Mickey Mouse?

EMU got scared and backed out of a verbal agreement.  After talks broke down with another school, the Rutgers is a late option.

Nothing is set in stone.

U schedule a pay day game for the $$$ If we play rutgers in a 1for 0 its about taking what is available to fill the hole.. not about taking a pay day game.

If Rice is gone, it probably will be an easy UCF win.
