Who do we play next ?

Who cares....they sucked.  They are suppose to be professionals??  And they let Puerto Rico beat them?  I thought Puerto Rico was our territory?  Aren't they US Citizens when it comes to taxes and such?

It is embarrassing to watch.  Puerto Rico played a packed in zone and just let the US shoot wide open threes and they could not connect.  I heard someone this morning complaining that coach Brown was to blame but last time I checked he does not shoot the ball.  Velcro is right they just cannot shoot the ball.  I do give AI credit for taking the interview after the game and answering questions about being the first NBA player team to lose in the Olympics.

I like Iverson... if only he would go to practice, everyone would like him ;)

USA can't expect to roll the ball out there and have an automatic win anymore. The NBA has many players from outside the United States now, so other teams aren't intimidated anymore. Even Puerto Rico had like 2 or 3 NBA guys on their team. Is Larry Brown just the coach, or did he have a hand in picking the players? They keep talking about "USA Basketball" like it's some kind of large corporation - there are probably 1 or 2 people who can be pinpointed for selecting a team consisting mostly of 6-7 slashers. (Was Seth involved?)  ;)

Iverson has a crappy shooting percentage, the only reason he scores so many points is that he takes his own shots and everyone else's, too. I still think he should be on the team though, because he wants to be there and deserves the honor.

Come on now.  Does anyone really believe if McGrady, Kobe, Shaq, Garnett, etc.  were there we would lose?  NO WAY!  The problem is the great ones did not want to go outside of 2 superstars in Iverson and Duncan.  Unfortunately the way they put the team together after not being able to get the best is the problem.  It is obvious to everyone they should have grabbed a couple of role players that can simply shoot.  Who cares if they can slash or not.  We still have the best but we don't have a 'team'.  We have a bunch of slashers.  Even in the NBA they don't try to put a team together with a bunch of guys where no one can shoot the ball from the outside.  The mistake simply falls on whoever put the team together.

agreed 100%... the US squeeked out another win after being down big against Australia... this team lacks shooting... nothing else... if they had 2 shooters, superstars or not, this team would be unstoppable.

In all fairness, they won by double digits.  Not quite a squeek, although they trailed big early.

At least they finally showed some emotion.
