Guest Mr. AKA
They said we would be "eligible", meaning that a bowl would be able to invite us, The bowl conference affiliations are as follows:Gator- ACC vs. Big East OR Big 12 (USF cant go here, cant finish 2nd in conf.)International- Big East vs. MACSun- Pac 10 vs. Big East OR Big 12Car Care- ACC vs. Big EastTexas- Big 12 vs. Big East OR Conf. USAPapajohns.com- Big East vs. Conf. USAHere are last year's matchups for these bowls:Gator- WVU (BE) vs. Georgia Tech (ACC)International- Cincy (BE) vs. Western Mich. (MAC)Sun- Oregon St. (P10) vs. Mizzou (B12)Car Care- BC (ACC) vs. Navy (independent)---- We played here v. NCST in 2005 seasonTexas- Rut (BE) vs. Kansas St. (B12)Papajohns.com- USF vs. ECU5 last year, and probably 5 this year, maybe 6 depending on L'ville's final record.Any bowl is good, but I would prefer to play other BCS conference schools. My dream scenario would be a matchup opposite Florida St. in the Car Care Bowl...... Guest
1. The "Top 5 in the Big East" is not a guarantee, not sure where that rumor came from. It is possible to be 4th in the Big East and not go to a bowl game.2. I need to analyze more to provide some math, but I think the ESPN people were a little ambitious... I really don't think a a 7-5 USF team is "guaranteed" a bowl game... there are too many other variables to make that statement.

If we have seven wins, then we need three teams to have six wins or less to be guaranteed a bowl slot.Syracuse is out. If Louisville wins out, and Rutgers beats Pitt, that leaves six teams with seven or more wins. I doubt Louisville beats us and Rutgers, but its mathematically possible.
