If WVU wins out, USF wins out, and another series of fortunate top 5 upsets occurs... Is it possible for WVU to be ranked high enough (ahead of USF) to be selected to play for a national title, and not win the Big East? (USF wins the tie breaker)

Wouldn't that just screw up everything? Or would the BCS intervene and somehow shut out WVU?

I think if that happened we would jump WUV since our SOS is considerablly higher than theirs and the computer polls would help us enough if we were both close in rank IE (2nd and 3rd).

I really don't think any of this matteres until we get 2-3 more wins and see how the weeks go that follow.

come on-- OSU? they looked pretty suspect to me against a mediocre MSU squad. PSU or Michigan will knock off the over rated Buckeyes

I don't think we need to concern ourselves with the rankings at the moment.  Our only goal at this point in time should be the BE title.

OSU looked amazing on defense against MSU. best defense in the country right now.

as for the WVU scenario, no it wouldn't blow up the BCS, a non-conference champion has made it to the title game several times.

I agree with what you say if you are part of the team.

However, why shouldn't fans worry about rankings and possible scenarios? It's part of what what makes being a college football fan fun IMO.

I was wondering the same thing. I don't think we would be the only school thinking, "WTF?" if that happens. But the computers would throw us ahead of WVU in the long run.
