Who they've beaten: The Bulls have actually had a fairly loaded schedule, with wins over perennial top ten teams Auburn and West Virginia in September. The Auburn win came on the road, and though originally discounted following the Tigers' subsequent loss to Mississippi State, it looks a lot more impressive after Auburn's victory in Gainesville on Saturday.

How they've done it: With superb coaching from Jim Leavitt, mature leadership from sophomore quarterback Matt Grothe, and a pounding defensive unit led by Big East sack leader George Selvie. Friday night's win over West Virginia was the total package, including a ruckus home crowd only found amongst elite college football programs. Oh, and those Mohawks? They've probably helped a bit too.

Who've been the go-to guys? Grothe, Selvie, and last week's National Defensive Player of the Week, Ben Moffitt have all been fantastic.

What's up ahead? South Florida's next big battle comes on Thursday, October 18th in a nationally televised ESPN game in Piscataway versus Rutgers. Home games with currently unbeaten Cincinnati (November 3rd) and high-flying Louisville (November 17th) dot the schedule in November.

Could they really finish the year unbeaten? West Virginia and Auburn  the two circled September clashes on the USF schedule  are now in the rearview mirror. The Rutgers game will be a slugfest, but both the Cincinnati and Louisville matchups will be played at home in Tampa. South Florida nearly toppled RU last season, and should be the favorites entering the October 18th showdown. If they can get by Rutgers, stay healthy, and stay focused, we may very well be looking at the 2007 Big East Champions. Rather, the UNDEFEATED 2007 Big East Champions. So, yes. Yes, they can do this.

I especially liked the comment about our crowd be mentioned with the elite's...way to go Bulls!
