I hope CJL works on clock management with our offense.  The end of the WVU game we were snapping the ball much to early, with 10+ seconds on the play clock.  The entire 4th quarter we should of been snapping the ball with no more then 3 seconds on the play clock.

I would really hate to see clock management and fg kicking come back and haunt us in tight games later in the season.

The clock management has been horrible the last few years.  At least going back as the PSU game.  Probably even further back than that.

Forget the 4th quarter.  After the turnover we goyt with about 5 minutes or so to go at around the WVU 30, we could have ran the ball and the clock out.  The worst case scenario would have been a FG attempt.  Instead we let Grothe throw it down the filed on first down and an INT.  WVU had time to run down the field and get a FG.  Worst case, we could have ran the clock out, had a FG attempt or points on the board.

Bad clock management. all around.

well, as for the WVU game, if we would have marched down and scored the game would have been over. We could have just punted the ball on first down after that.  SO, I'm guessing that's why that decision was made, but I agree.  WE should take the clock down to 3 every play after we have a good lead, or a late lead.

The decision to go for the TD on first down isn't a bad one. If you score, you are up 21-0 or 21-3 or whatever WVU had. it was just that the worst case scenario happened, Grothe under threw him and it was an int. If you score a TD there, WVU is hard-pressed to come out of the locker room with any sort of motivation to come out and play hard

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
