...but that mass exodus before the game was over just looked really bad.

That leaving early allowed UNC to move into the end zone with no noise to bother them.  If you are going to be the "best" USF fans you gotta stay to the end.

Are you saying they left?

They always do a victory lap; are you sure it wasn't that?

I'm not sure what the victory lap is; do they just take a lap around the stadium before the game's over but when the outcome is assured?

It's possible that that's what it was, but I know on TV it just looked like a group of dedicated fans leaving before 0.0.

They did their victory lap with about 3:30 left and then went back to their seats around the 1:00 mark.

Yep, they get around the stadium and then back to their seats

For what it's worth...

On that drive, USF was playing ALL 2nd stringers on defense... except for the TD.  CJL called a time out and put the starters in to try to prevent the TD, but UNC scored on the first play.

UNC had their 1st stringers the whole game.

Hey all, great game today..student section was rocking!  I was with the Studs and they always do the lap at 3 mins left...they were definetly back in their seats 1min in time for high fives.  Cmon guys, lets layoff the studs for a while...lol..

I was very frustrated with the last 5-10 minutes of the game.

40K people down to about 10K down to about 5K in minutes. Was pathetic, and allowed UNC to score.

Looked awful. On national television no less.

I would think blaming the TD on our fans is pretty insulting to the football team
