ChiCubs transaction:  Acquired pitcher Andrew Shipman and a player to be named later from the Boston Red Sox in exchange for pitcher Jimmy Anderson; assigned pitcher Andrew Shipman to Daytona of Florida State League (A).

these relatively small trades look to be setting up for something bigger involving Nomar, possibly Scott Williamson, Kim, and prospects.

Red Sox pick up 2 moderately good pitchers, one of whom (puffer) is a good at pitching to righties.

I think we may see something huge happen tonight, maybe bigger than even we see above...  RANDY RANDY!

Mark my words:

If Nomar gets traded to LA, the Yankees go after him to play 2B before the trade deadline.

Steinbrenner is a sonofabitch and he'd do it just to burn the sox.  Plus, Nomar is an upgrade over Enrique Wilson.

Sounds good and the new dodgers owner is a beantown guy who is pissed that he didnt buy the sox last year after selig stepped in and gave the team to john henry so it is not out of the question BUT the dodgers would be giving up their best pitching prospect and one of top pitching prospects in world to trade with a very depleted yankee farm team.  I think dodgers are negotiating with nomar right now on an extension if the trade rumor is real and will build around him or not make the deal at all.

Nomar wants to be in LA with Mia... its is a perfect fit for him.  Get as far away from Boston as possible is his though (imho).

Something big is about to happen.

once again you are quite amusing with your anti-boston attitude.  Quite laughable

Who has won a World Series more recently, the Giants or the Dodgers?

The same amount of rings as your beloved Ted Williams  ;D

BoSox need to make a move before the DRAYs blow by them for second place  ;D The footsteps have grown louder, just 3.5 games behind.

You are right, same # of rings... so by Smazz's comment, both are losers.

Red Sox will right the ship.  It'll be tough to catch the yanks... but Boston was 8 1/2 out last august too.  They didn't catch em, but they still made game 7 of the alcs.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."

    Terry Lucas, 09/26/22
