Not counted above are Safety Charlton Sinclair (2007 3-star recruit) and DE Craig Marshall (2006 3-star recruit) who committed but did not qualify originally but will enroll in the spring.  Also does not include TE Trent Pupello transferring from UF.

Just watched a highlight video of Sanchez playing QB and listed here as an ATH...is he going to be a LB??

I think I remember reading that he played on both sides of the ball.  He fits the frame of a LB and loves to hit

One of the state's top tight end prospects, Hawkins finished his junior season with 13 catches for 195 yards and one touchdown. He also played defensive end and had 14 tackles and one interception. Hawkins also wrestles and participates in track.

Armando Sanchez   LB       5/9/07      (St. Pete Northeast)

Ht: 6-foot-0  (Event)

Wt: 210 lbs

Bench max: 345 pounds

Class: 2008 (High School)

Andreas Shields      TE       5/11/07    (Wharton-Tampa)

The USF scouting report on Shields says he's good in the open field, has above-average hands and is a solid blocker. Shields is also solid in the classroom with a 2.7 grade point average. He said he already holds a passing SAT score and will have no trouble meeting the requirements of the NCAA Clearinghouse.

Mike Lanaris           LB        7/18/07    (Lake Mary)

As a Junior, Lanaris was named First Team all-County after he recorded 122 tackles, 8 tackles for loss, 2 fumble recoveries, 3 forced fumbles and one interception that he returned for a touchdown. He was also team captain and was voted the Defensive Player of the Year by his teammates. In his sophomore season, Lanaris recorded 65 tackles and four sacks. He also runs a 4.61 40 and was the starting catcher for the baseball team. 

James Jones          DE       7/20/07    (Lake Gibson- Lakeland)

DE James Jones Lake Gibson HS, Lakeland – Jones is a 6’2, 232 pound prospect that turned heads last year in Gainesville during the state football championships. He finished the ’06 season with 98 tackles, 12 sacks and 2 fumble recoveries. As a sophomore he recorded 67 tackles and 6 sacks. Versatile player who plays FB as well.

They have all been given 2 stars in both scout and rivals.  The one exception is that Hawkins is a 3-star on scout.

I just got back from the Wharton East Bay game and watched Shields.  I hate being negative on a player (so if you want to delete this go ahead)

The positives first.  He seemed to like contact.  When he was blocking he manhandled a much smaller DE.  Unfortunatly , I just didn't see how we offered the kid.  Skinney as a rail.  Was lazy on the field.  He looked lost  on a number of occasions.  Dropped the only pass he had thrown to him.
