My only other thought here is that TX has 10 D1 football teams and 4 BCS schools that have been playing forever.  FL has 7 D1s with 4 BCS but 1 is only 10 seasons old and 2 have less than a decade experience.  Also the top three are separated by 0.02 points (two hundredths).  That's pretty darn close.
