Is Pitt finally ready to turn the corner under head coach Dave Wannstedt?

This seems to be the biggest question everyone starts off with.

We finish the season with them and could be the game that we win the Big East Title.

I think Pitt will have a decent season. So much has been made about how Wanny's recruiting hasn't worked out for him.

That has happened for 2 reasons. Walt Harris recruited crap his last 2-3 seasons. In fact when he was a lame duck his last year their recruiting class was probably one of the worst of the BCS conferences.

Second, the big time talent Wanny has brought it will be juniors this year.

I expect Pitt to be tougher than the last 2 seasons and if things fall the right way (and they get the QB position squared away) they could be a lot like we were in the Big East last year.

The two things that worry me about the Pittsburgh game:

1. It will probably be cold. USF caught a major break when it was 60 degrees in Morgantown last year.

2. It's at the end of the season when the Panthers have had the entire season to get themselves together. It's like '04, when we were all fired up to start off with Pittsburgh because Palko had never started a college game. Then the game got moved to the end of the season by a hurricane, and they pounded USF to dirt.
