USF will be 10-2 this season.  Next year they will go undefeated and capture Big East spotlight.  When Matt is Senior he will have the total package for National Championship.

10 - 2 would be great.  Definitly possible, but it is a tough schedule.  Undefeated is very difficult.  Maybe only three or four teams a year have the combination of schedule and talent for an undefeated season to even be realistic.

I can see us definitely going 10-2 this year.  I would love to say we go 12-0, but I don't see that happening with the team as constituted.  Next year Matt will be a Junior for football purposes.  It will be an awesome year.  2009 he will be a Senior.  I really can't wait for September.

As far as schedules go, yes 2009 is possible... getting Miami, WV and UL here is a plus.  As far as luck goes (and don't kid youself w/o playoffs winning a NC is more about luck than anything) well I wouldn't hold my breath.

I think it's funny that you say "realistic outlook" and "national champions 2010" in the same line.

Is it possible, sure...but for a program that has never won a conference championship, played in a january bowl game, or sniffed the BCS, a national championship in 2010 seems a little bit less then realistic.
