Florida foursome will leave for NBA

Jeff Goodman / FOXSports.com

The Gator Boys rode into Gainesville together  and they are going to try and leave together.

Florida's foursome of Joakim Noah, Al Horford, Corey Brewer and Taurean Green are expected to make an announcement at 4 p.m. ET this afternoon that they will each be declaring for the NBA Draft, according to a source close to the Gators program.

The four juniors will make the announcement a day prior to the celebration scheduled for Friday in Gainesville.

Noah, Horford and Brewer each passed up probable first-round contracts a year ago to return to Gainesville. They accomplished their goal of becoming the first team since Duke in 1991-92 to win back-to-back national titles when they knocked off Ohio State on Monday night.

Noah, Horford and Brewer are near-locks to be taken in the first round this year while Green's status is unclear. It's expected to be a fairly weak point guard crop.

All four players averaged between 12 and 13.3 points this season. Green led the team at 13.3 while Brewer and Horford averaged 13.2 and Noah averaged 12 points. The team's fifth starter, Lee Humphrey, was a senior.

Don't see UF 3-peting with the loss of the big 4.  I don't believe that they will totally fall apart (the bench and recruits are still deep), but they will not have the same chemistry between the players they have had the past 2 years.

I have no love for the Gators, but love the fact that a Florida team is the national champ.  Hate the fact that the Ohio's and California's always get the props.

Whether you like or hate the Gators, fans of college sports should respect this team. Look at UConn last year, they clearly had more talent than this UF team, but they were all about getting to the next level and their own game; not the overall game.

Fun team to watch; as was that Ohio state team which played a very similar style and if they all return will be VERY fun to watch.

thank god they are gone... it will be nice to pound the crap out of UF next

lose top 6 players, they probably won't even be a top 25 team next year

Agreed. See UConn, but you never know. They were supposed to be rebuilding last year.
