There are about a half dozen players you can argue for best hitter ever (Bonds, Williams, Ruth, Mays, etc..) but there is no doubt that during his era of play, no player has been more feared than Bonds. I believe his back to back record breaking seasons in walks pretty much prove that, and considering he might just set a third this year, solidifies that point even more. That's about the most subjective thing I ever heard.Williams was still a better hitter. Pitchers just nutted up back then and pitched to batters instead of walking them all the time.Personally, I wish Bonds got to hit instead of walk. Bonds and Sosa won't admit since it is federally illegal if not prescribed.Tough to say who the best hitter i've watched is... Jim Rice was the most feared hitter of the early 80's, his #'s were always higher then most peoples, but that was an era with very deflated stats all around.Pete Rose was probably the best hitter i ever saw, but i wouldn't care how wins he had as a coach... he is a stain on the game.
