You can kind of tell that this guy want to get back into coaching.  If that is the case then I think Michigan may go after him, so I think USF wont have the chance to hire him. You never know though because he may not want to jump into a high pressure job like Michigan is right now. If USF can offer a nice salary then I think we may have a shot since he may want to build a program from the ground up. I just get this sense from listening to him on ESPN, so dont take any of this as serious stuff.  The ESPN crew did joke with him a few times in that he is going to be leaving to take a coaching job. Hell, Lavin even joked that he is at least going to stay and work for ESPN until the NCAA tourny is over. Take it for what it is worth.

Lavin wanted 1.2M from NC STate last year, way too much for his services.

1) Do we have a million a year to give him?

2) Is he even worth a million a year?

He is looking for the big dollars

If we pay a million, we better get something more for our money. I rather pay 600K and use the rest of the money on recruiting, travel ,etc. It's not that I don't like Lavin, but I don't think he is worth a million.

Guest BasketBull.

Seeing Lavin on TV and hearing him talk, he reminds of a certain former USF coach -with hair.

No thanks. Stay on TV...

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."

    Terry Lucas, 09/26/22
