Improvem't is good but a 2.83 gpa being the highest cummulative team gpa in 10 yrs has its own separate message about our past men's basketball administration/coaching staff.  Its not a good one either.

How does that compare with the rest of CUSA, I wonder.

Unfortunately, academic performance is not a high point for the vast majority of D1 hoops programs.

That question entered my mind too MarkeyMark but then a little voice said, "That's not really relevent.".  As a Bull Alum & fan, I am only concerned with the perception of USF.

Wins first, GPA second IMO. Who cares if we have a culm. 3.0 GPA if we win less than that many games in C-USA. I'd rather have a 2.5 GPA with a 20 win season. Let the kids in the IVY schools worry about the high GPA's!

Yeah, that's a good point - for instance, when they introduce the players at the beginning of bowl games and give the players academic major and gpa...why? How is that information relevant to the game?

And they never introduce athletes who have a gpa below 3.0, for some reason...I wonder if somebody isn't stretching the truth a bit, sort of like height/weight for recruits.

When one of these players are performing your brain  surgery, then worry about their grades.
